  1. Bear in mind what @Gus Potter pointed out. You won't easily get these to bear on the party walls and there is likely a lintel over a window on the outside walls which will mess you up.
  2. There you go. There is nothing you can do via the council. I very much doubt if that was how it was phrased. I am not sure why you have got so wound up about this, but I suggest you either take your neighbour to court or drop the matter.
  3. I have had an engineer specify joists at 200 centres for part of a floor, so it is not unheard of. We ended up splitting the span with a flitch beam so we could do 400 ctrs.
  4. I thought the outer bits were less prone to cupping. Is this from Vastern?
  5. The point is it could make the property unsaleable. I agree that badly fitted pir boards are hopeless. The EPS beads and cavity batts are non contentious.
  6. As per my previous advice, if the Local Authority don't think it is an issue you will need to take your neighbour to court. If the neighbour's house is oriented at 90 degrees to yours the fence looks like it is protecting the amenity of their rear garden. Either way, this does not look like it stops you safely entering and leaving your driveway. I would just drop it and move on.
  7. I would not recommend any spray foam insulation. It could be a disaster for insurance, mortgage or resale purposes. I doubt these even have current BBA certificates.
  8. I have used Cemfloor flowing screed and there does not seem to be such an issue with laitance as it is cement based.
  9. They are having a panelised system so N/A. Paying part by credit card could give some added protection.
  10. I like the guaranteed airtightness results you get with the likes of MBC and the whole superstructure being the responsibility of one entity. If something does not work out on site or BC pull you up, you know who needs to get it sorted.
  11. I think that is a large risk. It would be far safer if you got a firm to design, manufacture, deliver and erect.
  12. Red would be foul, blue surface. You would need to divert them if they are near the proposed building. Don't assume they are near where the drawings indicate. They may be fairly deep.
  13. Not the best but it will be fine. Are the bricks Forum Smoked Branco? The mortar goes well with them.
  14. Sorry but 25mm conduit for a 25m run is a no-no. Can you get a Cobra type duct rod?
  15. Swap the dishwasher and the drawer unit.
  16. Use resilient bar at 400ctrs instead of batten if there is habitable space above.
  17. Bear in mind that the planners often want you to be able to go in and out in a forward gear, so you will need space on site for turning. You may do well to extend the driveway / parking areas.
  18. Is the plan to make it all line up left to right and along the length?
  19. I have seen it done in hot bitumen. It looks quite an intimidating project.
  20. You don't need to do anything. The only issue may be if you have parked cars in the road and the council become involved.
  21. It may be better to have the rafter insulation extending full length of the rafters instead of insulating the dwarf walls and part of the ceilings below. 30mm of insulation under the rafters is also good and will help eliminate any condensation / damp potential.

  23. The topo looks OK. What is wrong with it? It looks like the site setout was wrong.
  24. I am pretty sure there must be a lintel or beam above, otherwise they would not have been able to build the bricks across the top.
  25. Something very strange here. Like @Canski says, survey should have included the neighbouring buildings. On the basis that the surrounding ground on the survey is about 100.00 and your FFL is 100.15, the blue lines are wrong if they are FFL. Maybe they are reduced dig levels or top of foundation or slab and you have insulation, screed and finishes on top?
