Polished concrete looks great It’s ideally used instead of screed on top of a concrete slab or block and beam floor You can poerfloat The slab But would look quite industrial

I think most of it is imported now In my case it had to be hot dipped galvanised Which nearly always has to be sent off Two lots of carriage I found a local company that sends off all of there steel So the cost was much less If you are struggling for a way to offload You could contact a steel fabricator who would supply and fit your steel for not a great deal more If you use a builders merchants They will simply contact a steel supplier and add there bit on Tge advantage of this would be that they could bring it on a grab wagon and then can offload it for you Ive used both options in the past
-
Steel is very cheap at the moment Try several steel suppliers Quote can vary by as much as 100 %

Yes he’s someone Ives used in the past Hes really good Also the local authority turn to him for consultant work So BC don’t question anything that he proposes

I can understand howfrustrated You Both are When someone agrees to do something they should do it I was contacted today by a good of ours He’s serious damp problems in a basement flat He can’t get anyone to do the tanking So him and I will spend the next two weekends sorting it out I was hoping to start plasterboardibg next weekend But as Deborah said The plasterboard will still be there in three weeks time The annoying thing is that everyone on here feels duty bound to pay the bills on time Can be a bit of a one way street Ive just started an apartment block for a company who hasn’t paid since October But have assured us they will have a cheque for us on the 15th of March Yiu will both feel a lot better once the house is water tight give me a call if you need anything Gary

I would get your floor in first Unless you have anough scaffold to cover the whole perimeter as well As you will definitely need a perimeter scaffold to put the roof on

I find it incredible that company’s will hire out a telehabdler without an operators ticket I wanted to hire a cherry picker Found that my log book was upto date But I’m due a refresher course Speedy won’t hire it till I’ve got my paperwork in order I needed a telehabdler for half a day Aproached a guy on a local site £150 for Saturday morning and a Greggs breakfast Ian it may be worth trying one of the numerous sites on the a6 near you They normally set the Brickies up first thing on a Saturday morning and have very little to do after that -
I use the snickers floor laying trousers They have tough waterproof gauze on the knees to keep the pad dry
