Dot and Dab vs adhesive for insulated plasterboard
nod replied to AliG's topic in General Construction Issues
We often cover large areas on offices etc where the plaster is sound but the walls require insulation -
If you contact a local SE He or she will do your calls and foundation drawing for a few hundred pounds
-
You will often see on site mesh sticking out of block work where a internal wall is to be built If your worried about render cracking you can either fibre mesh or steel mesh the area to be rendered Prior to top coat
-
Yes very similar to Nolte Good value and simple to fit
-
We nearly bought Ballerina Really impressed with the look and quality

You would normally have a steel beam above the bifolds that will support any brickwork or roof or floor above the bifolds The bifolds will be delivered without the glass fitted and the doors will be set within a frame Once glazed all the weight will be on the bottom of the frame which sits on brickwork Hope this helps

It’s a matter of taste I fitted this one with handleless I was quite pleased with it My wife hates it

When build for appliances I allow 5 mil either side and at the top 10 can look a bit much If you are plastering the aperture then allow 4 mil on all edges for beads
-
Ps I will own up to fitting an avocado bath and a mink one Gone a full circle and back on white now
-
I perhaps wouldn’t have given it a second thought But for our Architects pointing out that if we went for Chartwell green (our preferred option )The house may look dated once built Grey was just coming in at the time
-
My opinion on all these grey windows is that they will look quite dated in a few years White is timeless

I ran ours into the garage about 15 mtrs away I was also surprised at how noisy the pump is If the garage wasn’t detached from the house it would be an issue Originally I was going to built a small 4x4 store next to the plant to house the pump box which would have reduced the noise When I installed ours I had no knowledge of treatment plants But it would be pretty obvious to the installer that the noise levels could be a problem

They exactly The same base coat 3 sand one cement Top coat 4 sand 1 cement Wet dash 4-2-1 Four stone two sand one cement Wet dash once cured is indestructible We often use white cement in in the top coat and in with the WD and a spade of lime It will dry a creamy white and never need painting

I’m guessing you are looking for a sign off certificate Picture is the minimum that our Building control would accept -
Wet dash and dry dash wry similar labour cost Depending on the chippings that you use Both are usually 3/8 chippings Wet dash the chippings are mixed with sand and cement to a runny concrete type mix and hurled onto atop coat Dry is similar but as the name suggests thrown dry onto a top coat Dry dash chippings can be quite expensive With a multitude of colours K rend do both

Most of the commercial buildings are Ali clad Any fabricated with a press would make them to size

It sounds like the one we replaced on our plot The seller had her old tank replaced with two lots of concrete rings 6 mtr deep for each So called experts Perforated pipe also which had turned her garden into a smelly swamp The guys that did this where also specialist A may be a bit late but for 3 k you could of had a treatment plant At least the discharge is clean Probably not much help now other than there seems to be loads of these so called experts out there

If your referring to up stands around the perimeter or doorways You can make those up onsite
-
There doesn’t seem much point for five weeks
-
I posted a couple of weeks ago John remarked that the repair was quite noticeable The homeowner has sent me a photo today While you can still faintly see the repair I don’t think you would notice if you didn’t know it was there Especially once we have had a bit of rain

The gypsum backer board out performs backer and is much easier to use Lighter and can be cut with a Stanley knife about £14 per 1200 x 2400 sheet

Screeds will crack There should always be expansion joints in each doorway We use a piece of fluted 5 plastic and cut it off afterwords What he’s done there is window dressing and will make no difference at all It’s quite important that the floor covering has room to move around the edges Perhaps someone other than your builder to lay it If you are tiling expansion joints need to be 6-8 mtr apart and in ALL doorways
