  1. I’ve just started the plastering on a 190 houses site For WD One gang of bricklayer s Three joiners and no ground-workers 17 staff in the site office We are supposed to be on there for two years It’s going to be a lot longer If you would have asked me six months ago I would have thought things would have slowed dramatically by now With inflation spiraling out of control Something will have to give
  2. I agree 30000 homes between us and the sea ?
  3. The maps seam to shift all the time The flood risk for our plots come from the nearby sea defenses More than ten miles away ?
  4. Thanks The flood map showed us in zone 2 We paid an expert to map the two plots and found whilst zone 2 runs across most of our field It seams to skirt round the two houses
  5. We have just heard from planners today They have finally accepted that we are in flood zone 1 and don’t require a sequential report and are ready to pass for full planning Just a couple of small things ? Some route protection and a site overlay on the flood map Which is already supplied But the want the flood expert to confirm that it is correct Talk about dragging things out Big relief
  6. Well done A big box ticked
  7. I hate when people comment and don’t really answer the question So apologies for half an answer I’ve used lots of Z and as a tiler find it simple to use and looks great Especially the Westmoreland stone type We cladded a building and the stone guys where building radiating walls out of Westmoreland stone Very difficult for the untrained eye to spot the difference Ive no knowledge of Norstone

  12. I normally use a gypliner system on click brackets Quick and easy to install Better than res bar Only loose 40 mil of ceiling height Or a standard Mf if your not to bothered over loosing 150 height
  13. Ricoia are good quality and ESP also If you can find one local to you
  14. Dehumidifier would be better than heat
  15. You can put a small amount of heat in But be very careful
  16. Exactly no help for self builders
  17. It is quite normal I hardly came across this up and till recently Now all the large companies do this as a matter of course Its simply a fire break to protect your neighbor
  18. It’s quite normal to be asked to do this You could ask for a second opinion
  19. Often brick slips have been intended below the bead But there isn’t always room I normally use a base coat 7 mil and sponge it to a smooth finish That gives a very hard durable finish Your dilemma is more common than you think
  20. I often put a thin coat of render
  21. Banged adhesive around. Tenner for 20 kg is pretty cheap
  22. With modern adhesives you can tile over anything Plasterboard is as good as anything and cheap
  23. Correct Dave Just use the same screw lugs Skim I’ve then give it a gentle tap Leaving a nice clean edge and wires and box just as the spark left them ?
  24. Whilst we been installing these for years on the commercial jobs More and more house builders are asking for the Easy to self install Keeps everything tidy and encourages your boarder to cut the boxes out neat Also your electrician will be happy 50 quid per house
