ICF How much more expensive ?
nod replied to Dave Jones's topic in Insulated Concrete Formwork (ICF)
I think you will be somewhere in between Solid and TF We looked at ICF as an option It was only the material price hikes that stopped us TF costs are now ridiculous -

I would spend a small amount of money and go through a planning consultant Who will add detail to all of the above points made

Howdens kitchen - how to negotiate?
nod replied to johnhenstock83's topic in Kitchen Units & Worktops
Howdens are very difficult to deal with All this trade custom only is nonsense The problem is that they use the same sales systems that Ford dealerships used for many years (Pendulum) I’ll ask my boss What figure would you be comfortable with Its normal for them to come back a few weeks later with discounts that Jim has already quoted There products are fine and most bits are stocked Get your quote and wait a few weeks for the second call Don’t forget to mention that Benchmark are also quoting -
Personally I wouldn’t Even the larger companies are relaxing these clauses due to labour and material issues

No primer needed Your taper should be using a gypsum primer once the sanding is done -
Use the Supplied packers Make sure you toe and heel the side hinged windows You may need to get the units out at some stage So don’t bond them in

Yep It can be a real issue We have to crane our boards in on some of the larger job So they are often there for months before we get near them with plaster Mainly sound block boards We normally use two coats of SBR 3-1 One of the coats the day before if possible

Insulated slab, do I need DPM under internal insulation before screeding?
nod replied to Thorfun's topic in Heat Insulation
I don’t make the rules If you put any studs on top of the screed BC will still want a strip of dpc under them -
