  1. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/air-source-heat-pump-noise-emissions-planning-guidance-and-regulations Might have some help to you.
  2. I’ve had my engineered oak parquet (glued down) down in the kitchen for 3 and half years been fine. It’s had more damage from my young kids!
  3. I was running flow temperature 14c yesterday and had condensation issues on my fan coil units it kept my bedrooms at 21c, on day like yesterday and today I would expect them to hit 28c at night time. My house suffers massively with nighttime overheating. So they did work but I’m thinking I need to insulate my pipe work now.
  4. How’s your cooling been on dew point calculation today?
  5. I’ve just upgraded all my bedroom rads to myson Ivectors fan coil units about a month ago (absolute bargin new old stock) They cool my bedrooms far quicker than I expected, cooling 23c to 19c around 1-2 hours. Been looking for condensation, running flow temperature around 11-12c, Not noticed any yet after 1-2 hours but I will be fitting a dew point sensor for my heat pump which probably need when we hit the 30c days.
  6. Very happy with my grant aerona3 r410a, quiet getting cop of 4 and cooling with some parameter’s changed. Can get replacement parts from Wolsey’s
  7. My extractor fan on the downstairs toilet throws out more noise than my heat pump in heating mode. Hot water is noticeable from 3m on start up only for 5-10mins as the compressor is going for it but my heat pump is ten year plus design!
  8. I’ve managed to get hold some myson I-vector’s. Going to swap the out radiators upstairs for them. Don’t know what route I should go insulated pipe or get a dew point sensor for my heat pump. I really only wanted to use cooling when’s is 25c+, the sensor would be the cheapest and easiest route
  9. Condensation risk, last year I was getting wet patches on my floor in the garage from the Ufh manifold on humid days which i wasn’t bothered it’s in the garage. I can set my heat pump to adjust cooling flow temperature to dew point but I need another sensor
  10. Have you used insulate your pipe work with vapour barrier? That’s always put me off swapping my rads with fan coil units.
  11. Hit the nail on the head here. Did my lounge 2 years ago 100mm pir boards in between, Ufh pipes in a 40mm biscuit mix with cement board on top. when’s it’s freezing out side you can see the joists on the thermal camera feel a draft on the skirting board. Needed a vapour barrier sealing the floor to the walls really
  12. I did mine for around £1300 all in. My brother (electrician) wired it all up in 4-5 hours over a couple evenings. I did get a bargin couple years old ashp. I’ve just watched a mcs plumber spend 4 days plumbing a uvc cylinder and 25l buffer tank in and he already had the pipes in place!
  13. In my 1930’s house I used 50mm phenolic insulation on the outside walls. It has better U-value than pir board so you can reduce the thickness but it’s very expensive. You can get phenolic insulated plasterboard with a vapour barrier.
  14. Depends on the installers feeling honest. I worked on a bungalow end of last year, they had a nibe 8kw and unvented cylinder in the garage roof. fair amount of work to the heat pump the customer didn’t pay a penny. The plumber did the Ufh heating.
  15. I’ve just got a hob on gas (mistake on kitchen planning) I use around 25 kWh a month if that helps. Cost £1.92 and £7.90 standing charge 😭
  16. I’ve got 2x2 port valves with a relay to shut the heating while the hot water demand is there. Bypass to protect the pump. I only did this setup because I already had the kit no point throwing good stuff out
  17. I do have noise reduction activated on mine which will modulate mine to 60% so this does probably helps my setup.
  18. I’ve got a megaflow 180l with a small coil but is corrugated, heat pump never cycles hits max flow temperature of 56c to heat my tank to 50c takes average of 45 mins to hit desired temperature. Grant aerona3 10kw heat pump
  19. Just looked at my costings for the winter season, £486 for hot water and heating since September. 1936 built detached I’ve insulated, house sits at 21c. Over the moon with it.
  20. No glycol no anti freeze valves for me, just have the frost protection activated. I can see the last coal power station from my bedroom window, I don’t think I’ve had a power cut longer than 2 minutes ever.
  21. Cooling already, my heating was on for 4 hours yesterday 😂
  22. I install my own, oversized unit 10kw I needed 6kw. Had to install a buffer as I couldn’t achieve minimum flow rate. It’s sat on my garage roof followed mcs guidelines for noise assessment. Ive asked my neighbour couple of times can he hear when he’s sat on his patio he’s happy with it. you can hear it when it’s does hot water for the first 5 minutes when it’s ramping up apart from that it’s pretty quiet. Grant aerona 10kw r410a cost me £600 and a 3 hour drive to Newcastle, it was 2 years old.
  23. I only use copper in my house. I’m a plasterer had to repair a hep20 leak last week after 6 months being fitted. In the last 5 years probably done 15 leak repairs all plastic no copper leak repairs. Plastic fitting are silly prices compared to solder copper fittings.
  24. Have a look at this video, i could be wrong but looks very similar what you have now.
