  1. Isn’t the bore smaller on plastic?
  2. You can have a call for hot water I used to have this via my nest hot water schedule but the reason I changed to a temperature probe and the using the Chofu controller my tank is too small for my household like so I can maintain two different temperature depending on the time.
  3. Have a look at the Chofu manual https://www.centralheating.co.nz/assets/resources/Chofu-Operating-Installation-Manual.pdf same heat pump before grant put there name on it. So much more features.
  4. Flow temperature on the hot water is 55c, it will heat my megaflo cylinder from cold to 50c in around 40 mins. I don’t use any of the grant heating controls they are in the dark age. I use the Chofu system control do my hot water. It has a two storage temperatures, one for peak (50c) and off peak work (40c) just hot enough for washing up and a shower. On my heating side I use a 2 nest controllers one downstairs (UFH) and one upstairs (RADS). My weather compensation is -2 45c and 20c 35c I had to up the minimum because my radiators wasn’t warm enough when it was mild outside. I fitted the my heat pump in July and it was second hand unit. It’s r410 gas not r32, my scop so far has been around 3 I’m still playing with at the moment. I did get the cooling mode working last summer which worked great for the Ufh. I would buy again!
  5. On my grant aerona3 10kw, the grant control panel tells me the power consumption is 3200w when doing a hot water cycle. That’s the highest I’ve seen it at.
  6. I had a smart meter fitted with Scottish power never worked. I swapped to ovo energy they wouldn’t touch it then I swapped to octopus, they replaced the meter never had any issue since
  7. Have you looked at octopus agile tariff? I’ll probably be switching to this in April when my octopus go comes to a end. Apparently for the last 30 days I would have averaged 29p/kWh that’s cheaper than the government cap. My heat pump is using around 15kWh a day for heating and hot water 1930s detached insulated to modern building standards. I’ve been following this forum for years got all my information on here to install my second hand grant aerona3 heat pump couldn’t have done it with you lot!
  8. Just been careful with the silicone make sure it’s silicone not acrylic on a solid wall construction as the acrylic isn’t breathable. Full silicone is breathable costs double. Monocouche is a lot more crispy and clean in my eyes. Check there pervious work both can look smart in the right hands
  9. That’s poor fixing on the concrete board. Should have been fixed on the corner 150mm spacing with stainless screws. Even a batten horizontally would have been better instead of vertical. I disagree with all the concrete board being the same, I’ve used many different brands some snap with a knife some you need a diamond disc some snap when you look at them. Just poor install not the products. Weber are snakes but still the best product on the market
  10. Hi, I’ve got a grant aerona3 10kw on my garage roof. It’s actually bolted to the house on an air conditioning bracket off eBay. I can hear it when’s it’s freezing cold outside and it’s doing hot water in my son’s room but I just leave it in quiet mode seems to do the trick. I have the older generation of aerona3 not the r32 which are supposed to be more quiet.
