  1. Dragons all the way PAIR Large Sitting Dragons Statue Stone Garden Ornament Gate Post Pillar Cap Decor https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B076YGNDQL/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_TgZKDb6D42VB3
  2. I'm the arty farty type that thinks refinishing sounds like far too much hard work.
  3. Basildons almost on the way to you. That could be a very useful trip..... Are you still looking for a mirror?
  4. Technically you're supposed to use the correct white fabric stuff now a days. But in fairness it's only there to try and keep the silt out and it's all down to the local bco. We have made quite a few soak aways with just large hardcore in them recently and had them passed by bc. It all depends on the type of ground around it
  5. That place is perfect apart from the 8 hr round trip ?. I won't rule it out yet. Year's ago I heard of a place near Bristol that sells old aircraft parts. E.g old first class seats up to full cabins. But I can't think of its name and its also over 4 hrs away
  6. I'm aware I may have to resort to this. But I would like to have a browse if there is a decent sized shop relatively locally. Preferably one that sells tanks and other similarly necessary items
  7. Plan is to get a bunch of big ones (5/6) And then hopefully some medium ones to break them up a bit. They will eventually fill a bank of bookshelves we have at the top of our stairs which should look pretty "cool" I also found these which fit the look perfectly but I can't think of anything I will need to store in such small boxes ? https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F372006756235
  8. They sound ideal. I have found some 81mm American boxes that are a similar size. But I keep nearly getting caught out by some of the mortar boxes that open from the end ( not what I want) https://www.sportsmansguide.com/product/index/us-military-surplus-81mm-brown-ammo-can-used?a=2194066
  9. Does anyone know of a good army surplus store? (preferably in the south east) I'm hoping to get some large ammo boxes for storage around the house and I wouldn't mind having a browse instead of just getting them online. Tia Ed
  10. "a great learning opportunity" Fwiw I would run the whole lot through on your first set of blades. Get it down to 32-33mm then change the blades and do all the finishing passes. Also you say most of it is 38ish mm. Is there anything stopping you finishing it at 35...ish
  11. Nope they tend to stay roughly where I put them
  12. Yes the 5 are standard scaffold boards. The 2 bigger ones are called young man's which are good and can span a much bigger distance but they are a lot heavier to lump around and you can't exactly cut them to fit.
  13. You won't need the trestles as well. Each lift is about 2'. I'll dig out a video with them in Edit. About 1:20 is them set up how I liked them but they are used throughout
  14. I have got to check. @epsilonGreedy are you laying to a line or just laying each block with a level?
  15. Those are for painting and nothing more. Personally I bought some tower scaffold very similar to this https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F352569337738 Probably condemned by h+s but they work very well. Then get a bunch of 13' scaffold boards ( you can always cut them into a 5 and 8 later if you need to) I have heard good things about kwikstage on here but never used or bought any personally.
  16. Could you define easy and tidy please. Quickest and cheapest way I would say is to render it but it might take a few hits to get it straight
  17. Iv got one that makes you look fatter and greyer if you want to swap?
  18. Faye wrote the house name on a slate with a paint pen. I screwed it to the wall. Done
  19. Probably not good for the mix but less water. More Feb seems to work well through guns
  20. One thing everyone on here has in common is the ability/willingness to do some research for themselves.
  21. I would have called it a door with a full height side light.
  22. They're fake columns and that's the end of it.
  23. I find it's the language they use sometimes. not all but we're working with a couple at them moment that love to use excessive amounts of obscure words. I had to Google "pilaster" the other day because the architect obviously didn't want to call them fake columns in front of the customer.
