  1. you haven't met my mates, I'm more likely to get kidnapped, but I have already expressed that I didn't think it was funny when they did it to our friend so I won't find it funny if they try it with me
  2. I may partake in a bong and a crepe, but its legal over there so none of you can judge, however it is my stag do so i doubt ill be able to do much else
  3. flying out to Dam for a weekend of heavy drinking probably isn't going to help either but what can you do heh...
  4. 7 days a week. They don’t smell great but they are well worn in.
  5. id say within 18" of your head preferably less, but I'm just going on what iv seen
  6. I did smirk when I wrote it
  7. have you run out of screws?
  8. I would say you have got to bed the plates ( for our BCO you definitely would,) having never done it I can only speculate but I reckon I would bed both down, mortar / plastic/mortar/ wood leave that to go off, then screw it down, you probably could get away with just straps but i don't like the idea of it, normally we would use concrete screws but as you are looking for airtightness it might be better to use a nylon plug (the big grey ones) as that will expand a bit and fill any voids, you will definitely need straps for regs but it brings a whoole new issue of whether to VCL before or after the straps, before means, you can have a continuous VCL going up the wall and out over the rafters but you get all the fixing holes to contend with (probably how id do it then tape over the while strap) after means, you don't get any fixing holes but there will be a joint in the VCL at plate height you will need to tape and a strap in the way that you would need to seal around somehow. have you decided on the airtight layer for the walls yet as that may have an impact on the decision,
  9. the videos are slowly catching up with real-time. here's a 10-minute video on how to fill a UFH system from the wrong end . I got there in the end but the filming slowed down after I lent it on the aco...
  10. I like it, i was trying to think of a temp option and got as far as corrugated tin before I got distracted by sketch up. Epdm is a great idea.
  11. I'm afraid to disappoint you but I don't intend to be putting panels on the roof so I can't really help, however I have worked on roofs with panels before so ill tell you what I can, the fixing system they used was very similar to the ones in the link except they connected to a rail instead of directly to the panel. the lower z sectioned part is screwed to the rafters/ counter battens, then the black cover piece is tiled in like any other flashing, as long as they were in lines and under where the panels would go they just made them work rafters. sorry I can't help more. https://www.amazon.com/System-Modules-MageMount-Mounting-Magerack/dp/B06WRQMR6Y
  12. have you allowed for the thickness of plasterboard? the last thing you want is to end up with a gap a tile and a bit wide, but yes i meant the wall boards, coming from either side, how often have you got a noggin to fix the fillets to?
  13. lets not get hasty, how are you going to fix the end of your boarding? you either need to put some new noggins in next to those fillets to pick up the board or nog where you want those fillets, board the wall first, then fix the fillets (probably in a slightly different place) through the board.
  14. I take it you want something like this. https://www.scaffoldingsupplies.co.uk/products/details/1697.html they are what they use for putting tin hats on. The clip goes betweenn the joints and clamps to a pole either side.
  15. I'm sure someone will correct me on this, but I was told that concrete doesn't dry out, it cures, so the water somehow reacts and stays in it as part of the compound,........ JFM so it shouldn't take that much longer than normal, but it might be worth getting a moisture meter if you are the kind of person that worried too much might be worth just running over the top with something while it is still green just to take the snots off, I would have suggested a plastic float but anything flat should work.
  16. Pussy. Mines all in and done. You’ll be able to walk on it tomorrow so that’s a poor excuse.
  17. Ahh the bliss of being a novice. The frustrating part is the less of a novice you become the more you realise you don’t know. Welcome to the group. ?
  18. I'm sure I will have a few barrows spare if you wanted it, Its only gen 3 so might not be up to your standards, as for cheating, iv got 9.9 m3 to lay, by myself, in one hit before lunch, there will be a lot of swearing if the lorry isn't here before 8
  19. You really are a worrier. Screed is usually about 3-1 so just stick with what you originally planned. Im concreting Saturday as well. Iv even booked the pump so there’s no turning back now. :-/ also got to be out for lunch by 2:30 so hopefully I can get an early start on it.
  20. they would usually class as big, do you mean the main intake and outlet for the unit or just ducts that go to a room?
  21. I doubt it, @JSHarris is your man for chemical reactions.....?
  22. I can’t see why you couldn’t. Take a scrap of wood up the top. Clamp it where the glutamate will end, drill through the holes, “should” be the perfect template. Cut the groove with the chainsaw and refine with a chisel. (Half joking, it will be much more accurate with a skill saw if you can cut deep enough.)
  23. thats not the issue, atleast in most cases it isnt, the problem is the bstards that sued, Fred knew what he was doing. Fred knew if he f*ked up he would die. hence why he didnt die from a fall. the problem is everyone is so quick to take what they can that its not worth taking the risk its an american culture and i dont like it.... IMHO
