  1. Well it looks like I’m waiting until Tuesday for it ? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Makita-DTD154Z-18v-Brushless-Impact-Driver-Bare-Unit/132530920423?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
  2. Well that is frustrating. The dtd 154z seems to be as stubby as they get at 117mm. With 3 speeds ( I’m not fussed on settings) The 170 is the same size with 6 speeds and nearly 3x the price. The only model I can get here tomorrow is the 153z ? I cant even find an official size on the poxy thing but it looks to be 137mm like the 152z.......
  3. Just to update from trawling amazon descriptions the 154z is 117mm, 152z is 137mm 129z is 15cm ill keep looking.
  4. I have found this picture but it’s from 2014, I know they have released new models since then.
  5. From the back of the body to the socket you put the bit In. Essentially I want to be able to drive a screw in the tightest space possible. I already have an angle adaptor but if I can avoid useing it I will. I just looked on makita uk and I can’t seem to find that measurement on their list ?
  6. I need a new 18v Makita impact driver and I want it as stubby as I can get. Does anyone know which model is the stubbiest? I am willing to trawl through model numbers if I have to but I would be mad not to ask first. TIA Ed xx
  7. I hope you were wearing gloves and a mask. I’m no mr safety but blasting is a dangerous game.
  8. just as an outsider who is actually a builder. I don’t think you have been unfair in any of your comments on here. As as long as it all has been factual (I can’t see why any of it wouldn’t be) you have merely sought help where you could to try and get yourself out of a financial predicament. His workmanship looks good and you have said as much many times. If he dislikes anyone after reading this place it would be us lot a long time before he had a reason to hold it against you.
  9. sometimes I like to watch my old videos just to remind myself how far I have actually come ( I build other peoples houses a lot quicker than I build my own) God, I have aged...... (shhh onoff, I am fully aware of the weight) this video is called Channel update 12/7/2015
  10. 3 roof lights would have been an extravagance...
  11. you extravagant bugger, but only 2 you say......... it's on!
  12. hang on a second here, Is that scaffold still standing? if so you can do the fascia and guttering yourself, And i really mean you can with a friends help. Is BB doing the roofing/ tiling himself? if not just ask whoever is how much upstand they want on the fascia and I promise you it is incredibly simple. as @peterw said £1400 for 2 straight runs is just sill especially as he hasn't even got to deal with the barge boards
  13. It will survive easily ( open rafter feet is always an option) BUT if you do it later it means you have to form a temp up stand for the bottom tile ( usually sits on the fascia to an extent) also it is a lot easier to do with scaffold up.
  14. I find that deeply offensive ?
  15. Also if you do want composite doors check on eBay. They are a lot cheaper there.
  16. Where abouts are you based again? We use a company called tritec based near Braintree/ Chelmsford, Always busy but their prices are competitive I have found. Might be worth just asking for a quote. If you say you need it as cheap as possible they will probably help if they can. http://www.tritecwindows.co.uk/
  17. Joking apart you may want to change his name or mention of the company before he gets in trouble.
  18. Fair play to Jeff for trying. Hyab drivers are 5050, half of them won’t help you for love nor money. The other half will give it a go for a drink. We need to praise the jeffs at least he have saved you a lot of meters of messing about.
  19. he beat me to it. it's not what you know heh and similarly if you don't ask.......
  20. you tell them to get pouring I wasn't as specific about slumps but for the job it is doing its plenty strong enough, if i was planning for heavy traffic i may have been a little more concerned but in this case it's just a gap filler really.
  21. It was gen 3, supposedly they won't put anything less through the pump, as for runny the ticket says no water added on site...... but between you and the world there might have been a little bit just to make life easier, if it has weakened it at all im not worried, its plenty strong enough for what its doing and its full of reinforcement
  22. I'm afraid I can't help but I can see your issue, my only suggestion to do it without stripping the roof would be to beef up the left and right doubles enough so you could trim right through and do what you like with the ones in the middle. but I don't know how off the top of my head, possibly quiz @albert about his in situ laminating, or pester @StructuralEngineer for some wisdom
