  2. It soaks up water like a bitch. Makes a pi55y little amount.
  3. I doubt it. How much did you use on the floor?
  4. They’ve given the answer already- “chill man, don’t get hung up on it” ?
  5. No, get on with it
  6. Lol, the floor is finished! Circa 40 more tiles, grout, silicone and then fit the sanitary wear.
  7. Hey you lot - don't jump the gun! I'm sure @Onoff can drag this out for a good while longer .
  8. How would they find out unless someone approached them and told them? It's not like this would likely be noted in a future survey unless the surveyor KNEW that the floor had been dug up and insulation added recently. Assuming that whatever is covering the floor now (carpet?) covers the floor afterwards I don't see how they could ever know. BC would just take money off you for the privilege of trying to do the right thing and upgrade insulation.
  9. Jeez was that the bathroom? How deep and what insulation did you put in? Electric or wet UFH?
  10. It doesn't help with the overall house issue but when my heating broke down in the winter it was damn cold in here and I found that it was pointless trying to heat the whole room up with a poxy little electric heater so as I was here by myself I concentrated on heating me and not the room. To that end I bought a heated throw such as this one https://www.amazon.co.uk/MP-Essentials-Fleeced-Blanket-Settings/dp/B07B9N1WVD/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1546624457&sr=8-3&keywords=heated%2Bthrow&th=1 Peanuts to run but made life bearable until I got the heating fixed. Maybe you should consider doing the same until you get your insulation sorted. Good for folk braving caravan life over the winter too.
  11. That’s not good news. What was the rationale?
  12. Tweet them - they seem more likely to respond on there as it's more public than a good old fashioned customer query. And keep on Tweeting them if you don't get what you're after - they want you to DM them instead to prevent it being public I imagine.
  13. How many tiles to go? Or bits of.
  14. @JSHarris your 'about me' section seems to have got messed up as this is what I see? About Me <p><a href="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2016_05/573eec7b190c1_Croppedpictureforavatar-1.jpg.ddce6c04bada76e7f9084efdd5664dff.jpg" class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image"><img data-fileid="11" src="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2016_05/573eec7b3c539_Croppedpictureforavatar-1.thumb.jpg.82bf4596124b669fa8c295c37295ec21.jpg" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" alt="Cropped picture for avatar - 1.jpg"></a></p>
  15. There is a bit of a varied membership here as you note. There is nothing that really tells you who someone is really unless they have entered some information in the 'about me' section of their profile. Here is one example (sorry @Ed Davies to pick on yours but you have completed this info ). https://forum.buildhub.org.uk/profile/1604-ed-davies/ I didn't know one member from another when I joined 11 months ago but over time you will start to get to grips with who someone is. Just takes a bit of time. And @DreamHouseDreamer if you type an @ sign and then start typing the person's username that you want to reference a list of members should pop up that becomes more refined as you type. When you see the one you want to reference click on it and it should put a link in as per your own username here @DreamHouseDreamer. This will send the person you have referenced an alert so that they know that they have been mentioned and may need to respond to a question or whatever. And as @JSHarris has demonstrated if you want to like someone's post, thank them, or even laugh at their jokes click the heart symbol and that will add to their 'reputation' score. Not that it means a lot in the great scheme of things however, but it's nice if people know that their posts have been helpful to someone.
  16. I’m not sure there is a place that goes into all of the things you have asked about but there is a sub forum here with a few topics covering similar things. https://forum.buildhub.org.uk/forum/10-forum-news-and-site-issues/ In terms of follow, depending on what browser you are using you should see a ‘follow’ option somewhere. Clicking it shows this (in Safari) I can see that you follow this thread but the default (as above) is to see the notification when you visit the site and not receive an email. You can change that however by selecting one of the email options. And if you click on ‘change how the notification is sent’ you can change the default for your account. The ‘activity’ information can take you to new content, unread content, content you started or whatever. The ‘bell’ at the top should show various alerts that should also take you to relevant posts.
  17. Welcome to BuildHub Jason. Fingers crossed for your plans being passed so that you can make a start.
  18. All good! ? I miscalculated slightly how long it would take to warm up from circa 11 degrees but it should be at 20 in about 40 mins I imagine. Thanks! ?
  19. Returning home tomorrow and having a warm house after using ‘holiday mode’ for the first time ?. Beyond that getting the various odds and sods sorted including sorting out the loft so that I can get to the MVHR unit and change the filters, get the ST system working again. Always something to sort out!
  20. Aw, I bet he looked cute ? with the stilettos ? on ?.
  21. Not very private, it was on here lol. ?. @PeterW had me drive 7 hours in a round trip from Edinburgh to Preston to collect one! That’s the one I got from there anyway!
  22. I think that once the FIT payment goes and battery storage prices decrease those with solar will be more inclined to want to add battery storage. To that end some energy companies may start to look at ways of retaining that ‘lost’ energy that previously would have gone back to the grid. This offering from EDF is along those lines, although I’m not sure how many people will want EDF to take their storage at their convenience! https://www.edfenergy.com/for-home/battery-storage?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=cpm&utm_campaign=powervault
  23. Postage is a bit less on this one - just because I know you hate to overpay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10-X-6M-UNISTRUT-LENGTHS-41MM-X-41MM-PRE-GALV-SLOTTED-RUSTPROOF-WEATHERPROOF/173356720599?hash=item285cdda1d7:m:mG19p5Oj7xPYbVQK22gXREw:rk:64:pf:0
