Will have a watch - cheers. Of course you need it for 3 days. Who would think otherwise? :D. Hubby wanted a Tesla Model X but far too expensive! They are supposed to bringing the Model 3 out "shortly" followed by the Model Y with a fab electric range which from an affordability perspective as well as range should bring them back into view for a much larger consumer group! Now that the Gov subsidy has been cut the almost 40k price of the PHEV is way too high in my view. I won't be buying another unless the price drops and the electric range is improved.

I think the model I have hired lists at about £150k, :o Its the only chance I'll ever have to drive one so yes 3 day is essential (not long enough in my eyes)

My rather cute, blonde, single female neighbour has asked me to fix this.

Said it has stopped vibrating.

She is picking it up later tonight.

(She is really a redhead but has the decency to dye it blonde).

This has gone so far off topic it is now silly :D

Pretty poor really.

You could measure the thickness, find out the material and then work out the thermal losses.

Before I secondary insulated my DHW cylinder, I was loosing more than I was using.

Oh and don't believe the manufacturers claims, the testing regime is, to say the least, a bit odd.

How did you go about adding secondary insulation? Just sheets of PIR or an exotic mould filled with expanding foam?

I'd worry it might squash my old cylinder and cause it to leak.

They're probably still wondering where they're gone. :/

And no, you cant make this any worse, either of you.

including a CRB

Been checked out, I am safe to work with children and vulnerable adults.

I do pretend that the courts have said that no ones children are allowed within 500 meters of me, but usually gets misunderstood.  Then I get my lights punched out.

I will probably stop posting when the new terms and conditions come out.

Lined the cupboard walls with 100mm of PU sheet, then filled in the gaps around the around the cylinder with mineral wool.

Leaving an airgap at the bottom for the cable (cause I am a good boy).

Does the immersion ever nuisance trip / overheat stat kick out?

Cause not.  On 'proper' fuses, the ones with wire in them.

Being the lower element, the temperature rise is very modest, and I limit the on time to less than 3 hours (after careful measurements).

Yes all the time. Used to do it every time I used it when it got the water to a fairly decent temperature. I used to have to reset it every time I used it. When the boiler engineer came out he said he had 'changed the settings' so it would no longer trip but since he came out the boiler has worked ok so I haven't used it since. Used it every day for about 8 weeks at one point!

Ignore this - thought you were asking me - not cuppa boy
