Yes lack of info. If you mean a loo that doesn’t have access to a foul system or water then there is this type. My pal is building a canal boat and is considering this type of loo or similar for it. It’s very dear though. https://www.leesan.com/shop/all-toilets/incineration-toilets

Food Waste Caddy built in to worktop - Smell?
Kelvin replied to puntloos's topic in Kitchen Units & Worktops
Do you have a garden? (I assume so) compost your food waste and put the compost into the garden. -
Whether it’s ridiculous or depends on your attitude towards air tightness. If you go to the trouble and expense of applying an air tight barrier with great care and attention to to detail then two tests is a tiny fraction of the overall cost. Moreover, if the first test shows up a number if areas to fix then it will pay for itself in the long run. It’s about £250 for a test. £500 well spent I reckon.

Thermal bridge on ground floor under load bearing partition

Hi. Could you share where you got the Marmox blocks from? -
In our case (borehole) I’ve had to provide yield and a water quality analysis as part of the planning process. Both were done as output of the borehole drilling report.

Prices of building materials moving forwards
Kelvin replied to James Frome's topic in Costing & Estimating
Two kitchen companies I was speaking with have been chasing me recently with offers of bigger discounts if I order now. They weren’t doing that a few months ago. I’m not ready to order yet but given things are going to get tighter next year I can see more of this. Personally I can see me gain on some stuff (nice to have discretionary stuff) and lose on others (anything that’s energy intensive) -

It’s the Tog Gear of house building. Both entertainment programmes. With GD it’s all about the drama then the big reveal at the end having solved all the problems generally by spending a shitload more money. Last night was no different. The house was great admittedly albeit it looked like a weird extension to the 1960s square box it was attached to. -
Yes they are doing the install, well their affiliated builder is. There’s a 3m level offset around the whole perimeter with good access onto the plot. However, the plot is on a slope so I can see getting it in a bit of a challenge. But that will also be the case if it’s double glazed.

Excavation of rear garden: reported to the council
Kelvin replied to bmj1's topic in Planning Permission
My point is he would have to have been well versed in exactly what was happening by scrutinising the plans. A casual onlooking neighbour wouldn’t spot it. -

How did the neighbour spot that. 90cm is a reasonable difference but who would spot that just by looking. Has he accessed your land to measure it? -
Meeting with timber kit company today. Still not confirmed 3G is 100% possible. 🙄 How hard is it to get this confirmed. So frustrating. Said the window will need craned in.
-
I phoned Marmox and they don’t recommend them stacked or multiple rows of them. They are going to confirm it for me however.
-
Yes same here. I have burn with a fastish winter flow in my plot.

Ours are all straight lines no diagonals

Sure but worth a try. Explain your situation including the health challenges.

😂 I have a couple of quotes from two companies.

Super. Thank you.

Email Greg Jackson (Octopus CEO) I did and my problem got resolved.
-
Exactly my thoughts. The Marmox stuff is very expensive.

Preparing for an air tight test
Kelvin replied to Happy Valley's topic in General Self Build & DIY Discussion
It’s better than regs but it’s still not great if you have MVHR. It’s got nothing to do with the glazing it’s more the fitting. Was this final airtight test or the early one so you can go round and fix the problems? -
The Foamglas stuff isn’t dense enough. The sole plate is 300mm wide so what would the blockwork build up look like using Marmox? The service cavity is 25mm.
-
Here's an example of a typical construction drawing. It's not entirely clear from the keynotes but it looks like they fit 100mm of perimeter insulation above and 150mm below floor insulation.
