  1. Thread drift alert ? but did you see those useless Taffs who decided Japanese knotweed could not be eradicated? Merely ‘managed’? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-south-west-wales-43882916 which is wierd as there is far less of it about on the riverbanks near my parents house than there was when I was growing up. Incidentally, South Wales.
  2. Please video that
  3. I’ll set the wife on it. Think she’s got a disco from Simply anyway than their quote price. We’ll probably need 4 pallets for 70 sq m + wastage. We have an angled section ?‍♂️ We’re looking for something outside to suit the inside look.
  4. Thanks, I’ll have a look, this is currently in pole position .
  5. Cheers but that’s actually more than we’ve been quoted for something similar. I was looking for other people’s experience or perhaps a suggestion for something different.
  6. Probably  i meant to run 2 lengths of swa under the patio and then be able to use an easier to work on cable on the face of the wall.
  7. Somehow I have 70+ sq. m to pave ?. it ‘must’ be a 600mm x 600m format and look like a tile rather than natural/riven like stone. Textured, not smooth. we really like one called a vitripiazza cenere but it is too expensive. There are some cheaper vitripiazza options (Anno) but they are still over budget. There is an option via simply paving that is cheaper (name escapes me). Amyone got experience of other ‘cheap’ 18/20mm vitrified porcelain offerings? Must be laid in conventional flag fashion not laid on a screed like tiles.
  8. Not underground though.
  9. That would be ok if Labour was significantly less. I think @Onoff suggested this cable but with backfilling the wall with hardcore it wouldn’t be robust enough.
  10. Or as therapist’s notes.
  11. So this never went anywhere as I'm not shelling out hundreds more on some stupid lights. Patio man disappeared too so there was no rush. Grass has recovered, not much. Question wise, would it be easier (and therefore cheaper) to run a conduit to the end of each leg of the wall and surface mount lights? Would garden wall mounted lights need SWA cable?
  12. Is this a common features that age? The first floor brick dividing wall offset from the downstairs one? We have that too and no offence but my house looks pretty grim too. Utterly without appeal. Not a great decade for cheap builders. Bloody council houses to blame I guess, lol.
  13. I thought this was going to be a competition for your worst bodge. I am massively disappointed.
  14. Bloody Romans and their straight roads
  15. Do let us know when you find one.
  16. The is a fridge equivalent of Parkinson’s Law. (and shed and car boot and wardrobe and suitcase and...)
  17. No fear, I live in footballer’s Cheshire and try not to go west of the m6.
  18. have you ever been to Widnes?
  19. I’m not going to waste my time reading it if the word planning has not come up in any of the précis. What about the not so invisible hand of planning restrictions? Whomever he is, he’s just another banking shill intent on putting the young into indentured servitude so the people who came before can make money. Give them the freedom to live and build in far more places then we’ll see what a problem affordability actually is. All these ‘capitalists’ are the biggest crypto-socialists going. Remove minimum size requirements straight after all the other props that actually make housing unaffordable in the country - planning restrictions, rent subsidies, wage subsidies, state support for banks, state support for Builder’s profits, you name it, the whole kitchen sink has been thrown at making housing unaffordable for 40 years. minimum sizes, yeah, that’s the problem.
  20. And these ?
  21. Do I need to post the tap picture again?
  22. Make sure your hi viz is suitable dirty by taking it out of the packet, scrunching it up and leaving it loose in the foot wells/boot of your car. No one wants to look like George Osbourne in his still packet creased, brand new hi viz, grinning creepily at a pointless publicity stunt photo shoot. I always dress down for a trip to any purveyor of mechanical hardware.
  23. ? still desperately London-centric. That’s the entire bleedin’ problem.
