  1. we have a wifi dongle from octopus that sends them the readings every 10 mins as we have terrible mobile reception. gets over that hurdle.
  2. if you have access to the loft space just use a flexi duct and put the tile vent high up as it will go.
  3. there isnt really much of a controller on the panasonic ones, pretty much on and off. If you leave it on auto with a set temp it only turns on when there is flow from the ASHP.
  4. personally would remove the swept T and replace with a 90. Then boss the shower waste directly to the stack using that tailor made spare boss you can see.
  5. SVP you can use a tile vent like the one below, just get a good colour match your tile manufacturer will do one. https://www.roofingventilation.co.uk/Sandtoft-Calderdale-Slate-Tile-Vent-RV10K-1 Stove pipe will need doing by a HETAS engineer to b signed off.
  6. used https://domadeco.co.uk/ very very nice large doors (sizes that cant be made in composite of upvc). made in poland though so make sure to buy on credit card
  7. interesting they look identical to the panasocin units. Same factory i wonder ?
  8. not allways, on octopus go a lot of the free sessions are middle of the day when there is excess renewables. Car 2 home is the answer for time shifting as they have enough capacity for even largest houses.
  9. marmox detailing is on their website, its different for different scenarios. Unfortunately you have chosen the most expensive build system whose only benefit is speed, so it its not up and finished in 2 months its wasted cash unfortunately.
  10. only had to get a D4 caberboard up once, it came in bits and essentially had to be planed off the joist that's how strong the glue was. Pretty sure if you glued 4 x 100mm strips of OSB together you could easily hang a ton jumbo bag off them.
  11. honestly dont bother. get fancoils instead. for example It's currently 30C outside, solar is close to maxed out. heat pump is set at 15c to the UFH loop and fancoils, upstairs is at 22.5 and falling. the heat pump will cut out in another hour or so once the slab is at temp and upstairs will sit at 20/21 downstairs little cooler. I have a bluetooth sensor we use to monitor, it says bathroom but its moved into one of the bedrooms at the moment.
  12. unless you want tiles above the basin/spalshback in which case probably best to have it fitted.
  13. if you have anything in the loft sitting on the bottom cord you definately dont have anywhere near enough insulation. IT should be a bare minimum 300mm deep on top the trusses.
  14. zehnder call it season detection, you can edit the limits.
  15. which is why the builder did it like he did. As you had an architect i expect they did crystal clear fully detailed drawing of how to build it leaving no margin for doubt!!!
  16. traditional sand/cement/fibre screed.
  17. pozi joists are very good if you have services to run. Common method is to fix a ledger board to the wall to affix hangers onto then just drop them in.
  18. dont worry about airtightness in the loft, you actually want the reverse. You need to seal up the ceiling and walls below. If you have dabbed plasterboard on the external walls go up in the loft and foam the tops all the way round. If you have downlighters put airtight hoods on them all. rubber seals on loft hatch etc. then leave the roof alone.
  19. personally i would clad the whole place in external wall insulation and render. Couple benefits, wont lose room space, help fixing air tightness and covers up that miserable depressing grey stone. some nice new windows, fitted and taped well and you will have no problem keeping it warm cheap with an ASHP.
  20. forget about MVHR for cooling there is nowhere near enough air flow. Think of your air con working via trickle vents. we have the zehnder cooling/heating battery ont he mvhr intake(£2k) and it makes no noticeable difference to cooling. We had it purely for winter use. Wouldn't bother again though.
  21. its all relative. wouldnt put them in a council house or a legoland estate house but a nice self build ?
  22. we have butler sink also, its possible - just- to fit the whole quooker setup (we have hot, fizzy, cold and filtered) under it with a little bit of butchery along with a waste disposal unit. Just dont look too hard at the cost .... Saves wasting a nice corner unit pull out.
  23. cant put in in skips either. right pain
