  1. 12 Months hence, Not as good a day, but month to date way better than last year, annual similar. My wish for a battery was fulfilled. Waiting for solar edge smart water 5kW divert to arrive as immersun gave up the ghost in November. Second battery SE dc coupled imminent.
  2. Here's one I found earlier
  3. If you have a smart phone you could consider FLIR 1. Worked a treat for us.
  4. We were specced Kingspan Kooltherm k106 and used cavitytherm as the alternative. Brickies had never seen it before but said it was good to work with as it interlocks no taping and no retaining disc required, dedicated slots for wall ties. Remember to put a vertical dpc in the corners
  5. Let me know the best price you can get a second energybank for. I've been quoted £6.5k net with no vat as existing system with one energybank yet to be signed off on new build.
  6. I believe SE recognise the 2 batteries as one 20kW or should I say one 19.4kW battery and both batteries are charged as one. Unsure if they can be split with just one hybrid inverter but certainly could do with 2 inverters.
  7. It’s solar edge dc coupled to 10kWh battery soon to be 20kWh. Excess PV goes uninverted direct to battery. SE allow 200% oversize with battery. I’ve seen the array generate 8kW with 5kW going to battery and balance to serve house load. I also have dhw divert This is from last August. Quite a handy feature of dc coupling.
  8. I at times export at nearly 252 volts causing my neighbours EV charger to trip out for overvoltage. The transformer is 150m away with only 2 properties fed of a 185mm cable . My array is 10kWp via a 6kW inverter. I remember when looking at PV several installers tried to sell me "witchcraft" voltage optimisers. Could these be not used to regulate voltage for export?
  9. Do not engage. Once you acknowledge, you’re in. He may be on a fishing expedition and you providing him with a blank could be fruitful to you. if he’s intent you’ll get a notice before action, that’s when I would look at it more deeply. in the meantime gather all the details re interested parties and photo the “locus”
  10. I’ve had ian interesting conversation with my LPA re CIL. I got self build exemption and need to submit form 7 part 2 with necessary evidence within 6 months of completion. However we have not completed and only just after 2 years habitation got the air test done. We do not intend to move or raise money on the house and was advised if no completion cert than no CIL applies. However, I was made aware, the 3 year clawback date does not commence until the completion certificate has been issued. The 3 years are taken from the date on the completion certificate. So on our demise, someone has to cop for the CIL as a change of ownership within the 3 years.
  11. I'll get my coat! Yes it's there folks. Much appreciated
  12. Just Got my 6 monthly electricity bill. It shows I've used £523 of electric, paid £527 by DD, I'm surely missing something but I cannot see how I'm benefitting form the Govt Bills support scheme. I have yet to analyse what it would have been without PV and battery. It's shown as a credit then a refund but isn't the net result zero? See attached. Years ago I passed my maths O'level with an A but this has flummoxed me. Is it just old age? Any help greatly appreciated. 2023-03-31_ElecB.pdf
  13. Our architect advised there had to be a greater amount of insulation above the rafter than in between with a hybrid roof. Something I think is illustrated in the article linked. https://architecturetoday.co.uk/roofing-in-detail-hybrid-roofs-best-practice/
  14. Terms https://8979728.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hubfs/8979728/TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR SOLAREDGE DEMAND FLEXIBILITY SERVICE.pdf
  15. Local plan policies can contradict one another, such as green belt and countryside policy. Where there is tension the decision maker ought to weigh up the planning balance and look a the proposal’s compliance with the local development plan as a whole. You may be able to tick the boxes on sustainability, biodiversity gain, innovative and exemplar design and more, but ultimately, it’s the decision makers who are the ultimate arbiter and they often struggle to cherry pick out a subjective objection. If you appeal, you’ll get a fairer crack of the whip, just stack up all your ticked boxes and if necessary get a professional comment on the subjective point countering the LPA’s assertion. My LPA just wouldn’t listen despite numerous attempts and we ultimately won on appeal with a full costs award against the council for being unreasonable. Needless to say, I had drink that night.
  16. Your insurers wont be interested, no damage occured, no insured peril. However if you notify your neighbours of your conern and document it, if it comes to a claim your neighbour's PL insurers (usually contents) may in a sticky position. Damage was forseeable and your neighbours negligently did nothing. Photos letters, annual reminders and file until needed.
  17. Good Luck, I'm in Anderton, Northwich, Cheshire West rather than East. Just on final snagging list after long trawl through planning, 2 appeals and Covid lockdowns, learnt a lot and happy to help
  18. As the quid pro quo, I would ask for one of the houses.
  19. We had a motorhome on the site that we lived in for 6 months awaiting completion, ahem.
  20. Our warm roof is pitched. The BCO was happy with pir between rafter as long as was not as thick the top layer. I think it was 80mm between and 100mm atop.
  21. We have 3 arrays over 2 strings totalling 10.02kWp WSW array of 4.08kWp has generated thus far 3.396mWh (832Wh per kWp) ENE array of 2.04kwp has generated 1.38mWh (676Wh per kWp) SSE array of 3.9kWp has generated 3.3 mWh (846Wh per kWp) They are all optimised with minimal shading. In conclusion, west looks good.
  22. Ask for the overage wording in the legal pack. You'll get conditions for trigger and percentage of uplift. Land near me often sells with 50% over a 20 year term as these were the conditions ICI put on their farmland and others when they divested.
  23. There appears to be a drain adjacent to the wall. If broken, possible culprit?
