Dreamingthebuild...everything you type seems a little "asking for a friend"! And possibly just trying to plug your own YouTube channel. I doubt anyone would have a problem with this it just all sounds suspicious the way you are writing it and asking questions!
Don't knock the copper. I am a plumber and will use both (polypipe plastic). More and more installers I speak to seem to be going back to copper for more jobs...it's just better. Soldered or press fit fittings are so much safer than push fit plastic...and running nice neat copper pipework looks the business and is a much more professional job. Yes it may take slightly longer but there is not much difference at all in cost but I believe you will get a much higher quality, less leak prone job done in copper.
I don't know how you could put in a claim for an exact amount. If they are a good company maybe a polite email or call asking what they thought about some compensation as after all it was their incompetence that meant you had a leak....they must have never tested it properly in the first place...or the second place. Actually...they don't at all sound like a good company!
If it smells worse under boiler may be a leak after the gas valve which will only show up when boiler is running so testing pipework wouldn't show any pressure drop. Get him to check in the boiler.
The only ones I have ever seen fail haven't been installed correctly...kinked or with too tight a radius bend. Causes the steel fibres to rub against the plastic inside.
Hello, after some advice. I have a couple prices 1. A viessmann 151A
2. Panasonic aquaera
I was wondering if people have got either of these and their views on them. The prices are very similar so I can't base my decision on that alone!
Can anybody recommend manufacturers of roof windows that are flush mounted...like conservation style. Planners are insisting. I would like triple glazed and air tight also if possible. Thanks in advance.
For the rest of the barn I was thinking of basically making a raft with pir...no worries about it bursting or anything due to it being enclosed in 2ft thick granite walls, but thought for the extension maybe best to use a proper product with built in upstand.
I wasn't thinking frameless...although as narrown a sight line as possible.
I was thinking of going for a steel frame, with external supports. The amount of glazing part is not the issue, that is fine. It's just if it's possible and the detail of doing it with an insulated raft. It's only 3x5m the extension.
It is an extension as part of a complete barn conversion. Only 2 windows in the place currently! And the rest of the barn will have very low u values with a timber frame built internally.
