I give up ! Here we are this morning after rain - pretty much the same . Is it remotely possible it’s condensation???? ( desperate now ! )
-
The steel work is always dripping - I *assume* condensation . But is it around those windows??
-
Right ! Going round in circles here So ! protected the lower part of the build and blocked the door way Now wait for rain
-
Not sure what you mean
-
Yeah I thought that . Might just make it or just short
-
Because the pavers etc. will be higher by 50mm . Gate won’t clear them when open . Least of my problems at the moment ?
-
Couldn’t wait so went and bought an electric fan heater . Stuck it on a ladder and pointed it at the ceiling . Most of it dried up after a few hours . Meant to rain later so tomorrow i’ll see .... ?
-
Actually I might bring a hair dryer tomorrow and completely dry out the water tracks . Easier then to see if still leaking
-
-
Also noticed these hols I drilled for something. Fairly large - so probably used a fixing bolt right through to the concrete block . !!!!!!! will foam fill for now then cement over later

Got to site today water tracks in the same place , though lesser . No idea if my ‘covering up’ helped or it was just less rain Anyway - this corner where house joins wall . Would the best way to get that render board right to the wall to angle grind a vertical slit for it ?
-
Most of the wall has coping . But I will cover that area

Composite Cladding Any Good?
Pocster replied to Robert Clark's topic in Environmental Materials & Construction Methods
I can't find all the paperwork ; and I know I ordered a few extra but! 3.6m x 0.184 44 planks so 30m sq approx ( probably more like 40 inc the front bit) It's the trim that costs though!!! -
That’s exactly what I thought . Tomorrow I’ll try that . Also need help with the house to wall detail - photos to follow .
-
But if I implement some form of coping won’t that stop water getting in the wall ? ( assuming that’s the issue ) I shoukd point out that single track mark window is no where near a stone wall ...
-
The wall is block work then clad in stone both sides. I might screw some OSB strips ontop of it to act as coping...
-
One concern ( though it appears dry ) is how I finish the build and make a water tight joint against the stone work ( photo with the ladder in holding some DPM against the build and wall ). Will get a better photo tomorrow. In another photo ( with only 1 water track line) is *seems* to track back to the end of a structural steel. Could just be coincidence ......

Ages ago to "save money" I made the coping. Unfortunately they seem to be falling apart so will need to be replaced in the future.
-
The 2 leaky windows today Also my attempt to eliminate ( or proof ) where the water is getting in . Was going to re fit my flashing but bitumen is all over my neat grove !
-
Yeah . Might be worth a punt

I’ve emailed the new roofer whom I trust - to take a look .
