  1. Boom ! ?
  2. Why no payment? I’m on an export tariff - they haven’t set it up properly yet but I’ll be credited.
  3. Battery full Car charged Supporting you lot now ! ?
  4. I’m the same except it took nearly a decade to fit 2
  5. “ and even “ ! Wtf that meant to mean ?
  6. Can’t say which is better ( if any ) 2 x Geberit installed . The only thing I didn’t like were the support bolts wobble which wasn’t reassuring. Other than that both are still attached to the wall !
  7. I know !! ?
  8. Yeah I’ve got 50 . But looking at this I might need 100’s !!
  9. No the feet are meant to just sit there . The weight of blocks holds them in place . One problem might be the amount of feet I need and hence cost ....
  10. Proof of concept ?
  11. There’s 2 sumps lower than the concrete so everything runs into there . I want the paving to be level with the doorway . Could put a slot drain in . But it’s all more work ! ?
  12. Yeah I did think about something like that . 3 sides are already ‘retained ‘ ( concrete wall ) . So it is possible. I liked the stilts approach because it allowed drainage and also “ seemed “ like less work . I have stilts and blocks on site - so cost would be zero ( ish ) . Going to site today will take another look ?
  13. SWMBO forcing me to watch the sound of music - which I’ve never watched . I’m upset for many reasons now
  14. Not on site so guessing ... Blocks are about 80mm . At ‘deapest’ end I would say around 180mm - so 100mm to play with . What are you thinking ?? Area is approx 7m x 2.5m
  15. (expletive deleted) off ! My plan wasn’t on the plastic stilts - as they wont fit . So something else to support them . Miserable (expletive deleted) (expletive deleted) wits
  16. Useless (expletive deleted)ers ! . Trying to use what I’ve got ! worst case scenario I could shutter the area compress chippings then cover in sand and bed . Friday kill joy (expletive deleted)ers you lot ! . Some experimentation required !
  17. nonsense ! Of course they can be used in this way ! . I shall investigate further !!
  18. No ! They will be used in the method SWMBO has decided . Also storing them with walk on glazing is taking up quite a bit of space ....
  19. Thinking .... What about pressurised timber lengths ? How long would they last though ? . Bend / warp due to weather and the weight of the blocks ? Maybe some box steel lengths ???
  20. Bought these some time ago but can’t use them as intended . So ! New plan ! Going to use them in a different location just for walking on . Problem is the concrete they sit on isn’t level ( at the time was designed to have a fall ) . Really would want to use the plastic stilt legs - but they can’t be used on a narrow tile . My current plan was the stilts but with some kind of “ board” ontop . Then the long blocks are just sat on that ( no adhesive , no sand ) . Water can then drain through to my sump . But what board can I use outside ? . Really a nice 600 x 600 size would be good as it means I can position the stilts at each corner and centre ; also can adjust to suit the fall . First thought was simply concrete slabs but they are heavy and not as cheap as I hoped . Diagram to explain the plan !!
  21. I went with vent axia . Not turned it on yet except to check it works ! . Gets good reviews
  22. You nailed it with that ! Fear of failure . Spiralling costs etc . Uncertainty because you don’t know what you are doing and either have to learn or pay someone to do it . Doubt . Will I finish ? . Will it be up to my expectation ? If I can do it - anyone can ! Grow a big pair like me ?
  23. Took 5 years to get planning after nearly going bankrupt during the last recession. So bloody minded absolute determination. Unless I attempt every possible route until success I won’t stop ( bit like the terminator but better acting skills ). Reasons to self build not employ builders etc . Cost Also I want to do it Lots of ‘professional’ trades are shit . It’s a mountain to climb - so climb the (expletive deleted)er
