  1. Think of the future . Increased gas / electric costs . Over insulate for sure . Pv and battery I think an essential. wet ufh ; ASHP . Triple glaze . Of course budget may be an issue …. The journey is the destination.
  2. I’ve had artex skimmed in the past . Can’t believe we used to ‘ like ‘ it …. Be cheaper @Onoff ; as long as you don’t do it
  3. Can’t you just get the artex skimmed ?
  4. Wonder if these will work on horizontal surfaces ? I.e flat roof sky lights .
  5. Yep . I can be awake 2am thinking about time fitting / wiring / “ did that wrong “ ….
  6. Garage is an ideal indoors yet outdoors place . Why are you not going down the battery route now ?
  7. True . I think the relative inefficiencies ( I.e how many hours of extremely high temperatures and low ) are very small . Follow your head 😁👍
  8. Yep. Also again in my opinion indoor space is 'valued' space i.e. sq meterage has value and use. If you have loads of unused space indoors then I think it's fine. But when you want big sofa's / arcade machines/ massive kitchen/ downstairs WC - then batteries go outdoors 😁
  9. If you have the space then that would be cool.
  10. The current SE battery has a built in fire extinguisher ....... Outside is better in my opinion because if there is a fire/incident better outside than in. Heat build up (especially in lofts etc. ) not an issue if outside. Also getting a 130kg battery in a loft ( or replacing it; won't be too much fun ). Most of all though outside gives space for additions/alterations at a later date.
  11. He only has one - so more central I believe
  12. That’s not a photo of his head
  13. Yeah start on a Friday ! Always a good plan - then when you’re (expletive deleted)ed off with it you can 🍷
  14. Nah . All steps at once . Some days plumbing , some days electrics , some days IT . Mix it up - same thing week after week gets boring . Also it makes your site look a right mess so people think you are busy !!
  15. @Thorfun you doing a manifold ? With each run a seperate feed ? . Jointless ? ( messier but ‘safer ‘ )
  16. Goodie !
  17. Oi - lots of talk but no photos of messy pipework !
  18. Whilst rummaging through my plumbing box ( not a euphemism ) I found 2 other poly pipe segments . No markings on them but a few mm difference on all of them .
  19. No (expletive deleted)ing plumbers on this forum are there . I put the rubber fitting in boiling water . It’s the tightest rubber I’ve ever put on but does fit 😉
  20. Funnily enough the saniflo guy checked exactly that . It just says 32mm so internal / external ? . its floplast so assume 36mm external - which is too large ..
  21. Found this https://www.ondemandsupplies.co.uk/plumbing-blog-on-demand-supplies/why-does-waste-pipe-come-in-different-sizes-32mm-and-36mm-40mm-and-43mm/ So still must find presumably 32mm (external )push fit pipe
  22. Yes
  23. Grrr 😡 32mm pipework everywhere ( 36mm outer ) . Saniflo fitting ; pipe too large I.e needs to be 32mm internal . Saniflo phone call confirms this . So I need a very short length of 32mm external . Any brands where this is true ? - floplast it certainly isn’t . Or is this a push fit pipe v’s solvent weld size difference ??
  24. 150kg of 💩? You would hope ( expect ) you would notice slow flushing etc. well before then .
