Can only feel your way so much .

I can’t honestly remember. I spoke to my DNO for over an hour . Confused the hell out of me . But as I have 2 inverters ; combined ‘ output ‘ was the issue . A 2nd PowerWall would of course been another inverter . Thinking about it . I would need both batteries to be full ( power wall and SolarEdge ) so I’m exporting as much pv as I can AND perhaps get the PowerWall to discharge simultaneously. But of course I can’t get the pw to do that . Perhaps that’s the restriction DNO is concerned about ? . Combined output from pv clipping and PowerWall discharge to grid . Can’t happen though !! 🙄

Something I never understood though …. My inverter ( pv ) DNO limited output is 3.6k I get that But the PowerWall also has an inverter ( hence why DNO wouldn’t let me have another ) Yet during summer I can’t export more than 3.6k . Shouldn’t pv inverter be exporting AND PowerWall simultaneously??? .

Just noticed that those swmbo ones have some funny hold for dimming action . So no good as need to link dimming to ha . Will find something similar .
-
Yeah we have the ‘normal ‘ recessed in the bedroom ; 1st photo . Without dimming it’s so blinding it actually hurts my eyes . Can’t see what I’m doing in bed .
-
Recessed lights I always think of these SWMBO though has been looking at these . As the light is recessed further would they create more of a cone of light and less effective in a large room ?

You’re cheap - I’ve heard

You’d (expletive deleted)ing owe me !

Really ? No good you topping up at my house !
-
Is this using the car to power the house of limited use anyway ? Are you likely to charge your car at cheap rate - then at a later time discharge it to power your home . What I mean is leaving the charge therefore in your car lower . Can understand if your employer has a free EV charger - fill your boots at work then drive home and power your house . I just can’t see a real benefit for most people .

Does it matter the portion going into the SE battery isn't measured by Tesla ? ( I know it isn't ). Why would Tesla 'care' about that? CT placements I assume are correct - no issues I am aware of. "Solar assignment" no idea what that refers/means
-
Strangely enough Tesla emailed me suggesting their might be a problem. It's unclear too me the issue though. From a remote analysis of the customers system I could see that since 23rd June 2022 the Solar Production is showing negative values (see graph below). With negative loads the overall system measurement is incorrect and the battery cannot charge in a proper way. Since the customer has another SolarEdge battery since June 2022 (I assume in the same electrical circuit) we need to see if: a) this is a compatible setup, and if yes, how to make it measure correctly. [Because the portion which is going into SolarEdge battery is not being measured here] b) if there is an incorrect Solar CT placement or an incorrect Solar assignment
-
No - you are correct ! Pv / batteries at home rate FAR above a vehicle too me . Anyway I won’t be seen dead in Sainsbury’s- Waitrose for me !
-
We’ve kind of had these conversations before . If I go and buy a new Tesla motor for 80k - no one does the maths on cost per mile including the initial 80k outlay . Because it’s a car it’s ok to be effectively’ cost in effective’ .
-
Of course ! Also their degradation over time . But that was never my objective. So no ropey numbers for @SteamyTea

It would be nice if Tesla , SolarEdge etc. could all sit round a table and have the batteries/ inverters all communicate with each other . Alas ; that won’t happen …
