  1. This is why I measure everything incorrectly. Basically different brands of tape measures lie . The Makita one I got is the shitest for sure . Hell it’s not even the expected putrid blue
  2. Ah well ; I’ve got 1 fat max blade to hand as I’m paranoid about losing it . But I know I’ve got another 2 somewhere ….. 🙄 Currently only have 1 hammer - but must have at least 4 lost in the “ self build void of tool disappearance “
  3. Yeah you were never good at / with gags .
  4. I’m every night . Back stage especially
  5. I bought a mag drill off Amazon I think . Not expensive and seems good . Will sell it on when done to recoup some of its cost .
  6. But they are all solid core …
  7. This seem ok ? https://www.superlecdirect.com/6242b-1mm-twin-and-earth-wiring-cable-lszh-50m-reel/
  8. Thanks The down lighters will be permanent I.e be treated as “ fixed “ . The lights do have in/out connectors for looping - so no 2 cables in 1 hole . Does it matter if cable is solid or not ? . Prefer non solid core as flexibility is easier .
  9. Erm 🫤. Socket on wall . Plug from that into wireless dimmer unit .Dimmer into a chain of LED down lighters . Any idea what those 2 reels of cable might be used for ? The 1st one ( pink box ) sparky said I would need - got about 5 reels of that ….
  10. Link to correct/better cable would be appreciated say on Screwyfix ....
  11. Experimenting with stuff . Got loads of reels this wire. Tried to use it but it's solid core , stiff, tricky to cut as it's flat not round. Assume it's not for lighting; what would it be for? Got just a bit of this - which I used for lighting experiment. This ok? Is there a better type of wire I should use for lighting circuits?. All 240v but low wattage LED lights. TA!
  12. Not installed it tbh . The reolink app seems pretty good . Can’t see an issue with it linking to bluiris I.e my equivalent to an nvr . For the money real good - much better than over priced doorbird I have .
  13. +1 for ASUS. Tried bt discs , netgear , tplink , others - only ASUs did it for me
  14. Yep ! 👍👍👍
  15. But control them how ? I’m leaning towards the ‘square ‘ arrangement
  16. Nope ! Lights MUST be centre of tile …. 😁
  17. Or do I put the lights anywhere within the 600mm tile so I can space them exactly . Look pants yeah ? . Light has to be centre of tile no matter what ?? More 🍷; will help ….
  18. Actually as I sit here sipping ( guzzling ) my Chablis here’s a photo . I lined the ceiling centre with the sliding doors ( though they are not central of the room !! ) . With these things I think it’s how it looks rather than it is an exact symmetrical measurement I.e from each wall either side .
  19. About to do a test ( about means within the next few weeks ) . Lounge area has down lighters dimmable . I’m assuming though I won’t want them ALL on ( maybe as many as 20 ) . As I’m linking it to my HA I could wire so that I control a row or column . Maybe control the edges like a perimeter of a square with a smaller square inside . Not sure what would be best . As I have a suspended office style ceiling - for sake of ocd a light would be positioned dead centre of a tile . As tiles are 600mm that means a light width wise every 1.2 metres . So width would be 4 lights ( though it means exact centre of room lights would be further than 1.2m to maintain symmetry) . Length I reckon ( if one every 1.2m ) would be maybe 10 . If none of that makes sense - ask for a drawing 😁
  20. Well it’s been around 15 months - no leaks ( from the shower or bathroom ) . Regarding the face plate I didn’t put any silicone under the bottom part . Logic being I should be able to slip a razor blade under there and cut the silicone around the other 3 sides . How practical that is remains to be seen 🙄
  21. When @Thorfun reports tomorrow that it was a brilliant suggestion and he has identified all his panels I shall laugh at you mortals .
  22. It was actually a serious suggestion. A drone etc. Is doable but somewhat tricky . This method will make it much clearer which panel is getting the bulk of the light and therefore identify it . Go out tonight shine a torch at a panel and see . You know it makes sense because I said it .
  23. I got my arse b*locked for it . Still sore from the rapture / rupture .
