  1. I wonder if it’s one of these cheap traps . When I installed my shower tray no matter how hard I tried the supplied trap leaked . Ordered a new ‘better’ one and could tell instantly as I installed it what a better fit it was . Not leaked since . All traps are certainly not born equal .
  2. Forgot to say ; I might be arriving late tomorrow.
  3. Don’t use your finger 😉
  4. Nor me ! More sub frame decking . Better get back to it now 😊🤣
  5. @Thorfun - you’re doing what I’m doing . Posting on here to avoid doing the work - but it is a bank holiday after all 😎👍
  6. Ah I see . Skinny tile strip at end might look ‘off’ . 1200x750 sounds good to me ( the loss of 50mm on width is negligible ) .
  7. Personally I’d want the tray as large as possible . Whilst your theory of water on tiles with dry ( especially with ufh ) ; kids with water … well it goes everywhere and becomes slippery .
  8. I’ve sent a nice email ( 4/10 on my pissed off scale ) . We will see what gives .
  9. The stairs yeah ? ; not the house ! 😳
  10. Oi ! Why change that word to ‘folks’ ? ffs ! from twitter We lost Rik Mayall, The People's Poet, OTD in 2014. The Young Ones was a quantum leap in comedy back in 1982, and my inner 11 year old loved every second of it. Rik was an incredibly talented comedian and actor, we were lucky to have him. Right Kids?
  11. Also , don’t shave pubic hair in shower - right folks 👍
  12. I had a tenant with really long hair constantly blocking the shower waste . She would complain ; say the shower was crap etc . I told her to shave her head .
  13. Gold you would think ! Lots of glass and polished steel . Nice ‘box’ wooden steps ; kubos
  14. We’ve all been there …
  15. I usually supply the few trades I do have onsite with goodies from the bakery
  16. I won’t be . It’s a 30k staircase so I’ll make sure they do it correctly
  17. Here's their plan. I drill the steel at these points ( presumably 2 holes ). Fix noggins. Timber then horizontal; then pack out with OSB. What bugs me is a) the work for me and b) the actual top tread fixes at just one point by the blue stairs - so why I need to do the whole lot is pointless. They fix to the steel any way they want at the top tread end to the steel!
  18. Yeah but that’s crap ! There’s a bloody rsj there - fix to that !
  19. For the cost of the stairs I’ll make bloody sure some kind of metal bracket off the top stair is welded / bolted to the steel by them
  20. This is the type of thing I would have thought . I’ll wait for their drawings . The fact they want me to in fill the steel with timber seems pointless
  21. What’s the ‘standard’ way to fix a self supporting staircase at the top tread ? I’ve got a nice rsj there which I assumed the company would be happy to fix too . But they want me to bolt noggins in and ‘pack out ‘ to the face on the steel . This seems pointless to me and not very good - are they really going to hang off some bolted timber when they could ( should ? ) bolt directly to the rsj .
  22. My uvc is probably 10m from the ASHP - all pipework insulated of course . Batteries outside are temperamental to temperature unless a Tesla ( has cooling and heating ) . My inverter outside also - about 1m from batteries . No issues
  23. Crumbs - you’d be no fun in a cubicle!
