  1. Ah yes, casu martzu...I wouldn't!
  2. Grubscrews in door handles are often made of cheese nowadays. Over zealous application of the Allen key results in the hex in the screw rounding off.
  3. Some square shafts have a V groove in them for the grub screw to locate. I've drilled them too!
  4. That'd really bug me especially when it goes stagnant and becomes a mozzie breeding ground. Tip a few gallons of Desmopol over the roof and it'll fill up the depression...maybe 😂

  6. I tend to take out and very lightly drill the square shaft where the grub screw has marked it in order for the point of the grub screw to go into something. For repeat looseners I'll apply low strength Loctite.
  7. Should have used Illbruck FM330 foam! 😂
  8. Is the menu spelt right?
  9. Totally different situation, @pocster's issue is concrete in (read under) water.
  10. The Official Secrets Act prevents me from saying where (no I'm not bs'ing) but I worked on a building where there was a concrete lab on site. Water content was a huge consideration and they made hundreds of test cubes then tested them to destruction. Biggest issue was getting the right aggregates that would bond through the special reinforcing mesh that doubled as an RF screen. 100mm thick glass and so on. Amazing place.
  11. Oi! I'm a late starter! What have I learnt? Control the blackfly earlier for a start. I don't seem to have many flowers "low down" tbh. Were they destroyed early on before I properly got on top of the blackfly? The layered trench though seems to be holding moisture well, see how dark the soil is in comparison: These are about the biggest runners in the trench at the mo. I've plenty it seems in the upper layers of the foilaige: The potted runners...well, not even worth taking an in focus photo:
  12. Ideally looking into their gardens.....
  13. Yours is a lot bigger than mine. Bean eating the dwarf ones here in the pots. The runners in the bed are just a couple of inches long at best but lots of them. The potted runners are lagging!

  16. How about building a large timber pergola. Sheet the roof with polycarb sheets and sides for now with tarps. Later on, revert to a pergola. Though the price of timber.... 😬
  17. Had a 3x9m gazebo here for a while, used for kids parties in the summer etc. Used it for a bit as an outside workshop making fence panels but the wind destroyed it one night.
  18. As has been mentioned before 😂 It was my first go at a bathroom / tiling. 10mm out, still bugs me. At least my grout's not pi$$ yellow!
  19. Bernstein NT2038. Good luck getting one though. Got mine, delivered from them and next day but pre Brexit, for £130. Wish I'd bought two more as I've the Geberit frames to fit 🙁 https://bernstein-badshop.com/toilets-00000000000000000000000000000691/wall-mounted-wc/a-3283
  20. Sadly then you might need to buy another roll of tape. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Aquaseal-Waterproof-Tanking-Tape-meter/dp/B01MSELU13/ref=asc_df_B01MSELU13/? Don't scrimp anywhere with this.
  21. Tbh your link too puts the load on the "nibs" of the post. If was doing it I'd make them out of stainless sheet, folded in a U, that goes right round the post and clamp rather than drill anything. Maybe with a bit of rubber to stop "slip". Closest I could find ready made was these: https://www.amazon.co.uk/GAH-Alberts-Anchor-Hot-Dip-Galvanised-217631/dp/B0029MCV22/ref=asc_df_B0029MCV22/? I can't tell though whether they are the right size!
  22. Maybe use the pre routed chipboard flooring panels? It will add height to your floor and you may need to trim door heights etc. Have you done any calcs to ensure that just having UFH will give enough heat? Something like this, other brands available: Overlay-Kit-Installation.pdf
  23. Yeah, she's made up! I should hasten to add this was just after I'd fitted it and from memory she was moaning I'd "got mastic all over it" or some other imaginary transgression.
