  1. Geocel Pro Flex Soudal Transpacryl. Everbuild Crystal Clear DL Chemicals Paracryl Some go on "cloudy" then cure transparent.
  2. Bought a cheap Aldi 50". Sound was crap. Had an old PC speaker system: & some plastic primer / black satin: Should have gone matt black. Made a new top for the old telly stand: Sounds better than it did.
  3. You can get a strain relief plate 222-505 which has holes in to screw down: https://www.wago.com/gb/installation-terminal-blocks-and-connectors/strain-relief-plate/p/222-505 To which you clip mounting carriers: Good old chunky 222 connectors in a 222-500 carrier: Or the newer 221s in a 221-500 carrier, so the same plate fits both: You can see with the 221s you can flick the lever still/access the wire. With the 222 you have to faff and slide them all out potentially to get to just one. Which is why I designed my grey 3D printed ones. Now if I had some orange filament...and it was fire retardant...? Tbh I find navigating the Wago website and part numbers only slightly less confusing than Geberit!

  9. That was done to take a 3+2+3+5. Could do you whatever combination pretty much at the drop of a hat. What about a mounting tag etc? Always interested in a hand job... ?
  10. Use a standard enclosure and some printed holders? I could graft a DIN rail clip onto the model easy enough.
  11. Can't you just put Bluetooth speakers in (the ceiling) and control the Alexa via the phone, telling it to output to the Bluetooth? That's what my kids do. These similar to mine: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/284239807434?hash=item422e0343ca:g:RO4AAOSwSuVhzqzC

Generally seems to have dried ok. If the resin sticks to the flints like it does my hands I'll be well happy. The odd lighter coloured blob (though not all of them) is still wet, uncured DeWalt resin from the tail end of the tube, when it was just resin coming out with no hardener. Maybe as it was a bit out of date? I'll live with it as the tube was a freebie! Resin is horrible to use from a normal gun imho. Much prefer the Fischer, space shuttle esque resin tubes. My daughter couldn't squeeze the DeWalt stuff in the standard gun. With the Fischer gun it's a doddle. The "towers" are a concern as in where the distance from mesh to flint is such I've had to build up the resin in height to bridge the gap. Now to try and "hang" one without everything falling off! Edit: Must get laddo to print up some pads for the clamps so they sit over the "+" of the mesh and don't slip off.

OMG! Ran out of the "proper", need a special applicator gun, Fischer resin and had to use a tube of DeWalt stuff that fits in a standard mastic gun. (Got it free as slightly out of date). It stinks to high heaven! No hiding I'm doing this in the kitchen.

Something like this: Then rope in No.2 daughter and let loose with the resin gun: ...whilst I watch Hidden Figures with a glass of Wainwright The Golden Beer! Hopefully the resin will stick like the proverbial to the flints and mesh. I'll then be able to lift the whole thing into place like a mosaic tile mat and hang from some resin studs.
  17. Won't a ledge have sitting water on it? How about sloping the ledge bit and "decorating" with hanging, fake plants?
  18. Quite like that idea but I'd use something a little more durable than Perspex. Pity you can't get some walk on glazing and use that.
  19. Just waiting for my half pack of Celcon blocks then I can get the walls up. Still waiting on the Pozi joists so I can make best use of the high ceiling space.
  20. Fair enough & to think I have my 18th ? Why am I thinking 500mm?

Always guaranteed to bring something to the party. There's me thinking you'd have gone with something to do with the words "face down" in the above text.

Looks like I got away with the dishwasher trick. Had it done, unloaded and restacked with dishes without her twigging. They came out rather impressively hot and in fact held their heat for a long time...(heat store project? ?) The next, new, rough plan goes like this then: I cut a board the size of the recess. Found another bit of mesh. I organised the flints how you'll see them face on like the reference photo. I then mirrored the photo. I've laid the flints face down on the board then tried to rearrange with reasonable gaps. The mesh gets laid on top and the mesh cut out where the high points are. Shouldn't matter if it doesn't sit quite flat. I'll clamp the mesh down onto the flints then blob Fischer or similar resin in each flint to hold it to the mesh... hopefully!
