  1. i've had a couple of the illbruck and used on/off over a few months with no issue, to be fair haven't used a lot as illbuck foam doesn't seem to block nozzle as much as others.
  2. turn can upside down and press nozzle with fingernails to allow cleaner out?
  3. i hope it's just the pic but it looks as though the lintel sags a bit.
  4. gas leaked? it's just acetone
  5. if there is no bridging of the cavity and a dpc under inner leaf why does the cavity need to be ventilated. as i said in the post above air bricks have been used in the past to ventilate under a suspended timber floor not the cavity. the only other reason for having an air brick above ground level would be to add ventilation to a room and this would have a cavity liner to avoid ventilating the cavity. a quick search for ventilating the cavity will bring up articles such as this and this
  6. for what reason?
  7. not that big a dug then, the bigger ones tend not to live too long. horses even worse they can go to 40+! 😥 and they're a lot more expensive, food, bedding, stabling. got a lovely big shed i could fill with cars but no, stables. people think you must have money if you have horses, unfortunately it's the opposite, you'd have money if you didn't have horses.
  8. start building when they're close to death, problem solved, then get a smaller dog
  9. half height glazing on both doors so the dogs can't see out?
  10. along with the occasional leak in the roof, the lack of extractor in the bathroom after it blew up, no inslution in the ceiling and wall in the en-suite, draughts, under one door, i'll leave it to the next tenant. at least this one is dry, the one we started off in across the road was covered in black mould, horses are stabled in the yard here so it's convenient and we shouldn't be here too much longer
  11. a lot of houses with a cavity have never had damp and the only use for the air brick was to ventilate under a suspended timber floor. these days it's stated that weep vents are there to remove water above lintels and to ventilate the cavity, having a ventilated cavity just reduces the u value of the wall by cooling it. the other argument to not ventilating the cavity is full fill with insulation. a cavity is only there to stop water getting to the internal leaf and if there is no way for it to cross the cavity there should be no need to ventilate as long as there is no damp on the inner leaf.
  12. if it annoys you that much, contact adhesive stick another layer of rubber over the area to build it up
  13. sorry, missed the previous reply, no cost sheet as nothing has been costed since we started, quote was sent as a text, difference could be down to location as at 10k plus alarm and cameras it's not a million miles away.
  14. the handle then is generic, will have different fixing types and the grub screw is more useful on a type without the screws into the door. won't do any harm tightening it though
  15. you're saying that if the grubscrew is slack the handle doesn't come off? if you remove the circular coverplate on the handle are there screws holding the handle to the door?
  16. welcome to the forum, have you tried ecology building society?
  17. no, it replaced another older woodburner in the 200yr old and certainly not air tight rental we're in.
  18. we got the arada slimline I600 freestanding and are not impressed, very poor draw and lots of smoke when door is opened. door only stays clear on the side with the handle. looks great though!
  19. getting mine done for 9k. sockets, lights, cat 6, ext lights, alarm and cameras, so absolutely!
  20. wind turbine? and before anybody says anything i know, i know. but there will probably be more wind than sun.........
  21. ask blacksmith to make it, take it to a wheel powder coat company and get them to coat it
  22. presuming floor drawings are from estate agent? how much wall and from where as drawings are showing what is as opposed to what was?
  23. well i'm stuffed then. why do you think the aluminium is there? seriously though, there is fitting instructions which state the gap at the side of the aluminium must not be sealed with mastic/silicone asit's a drain. if you leave a shadow gap are you relying on tape to seal as 5mm is not a lot of clearance. btw, is that 5mm each edge or 2.5mm clearance a side?
