  1. @Thorfun you say you slated the roof as specified by the panel suppliers, therefore it’s their responsibility to fit their panels so they don’t cause an issue, get their take on the problem (and report back).
  2. Without seeing it and being there I don’t know but I would bet the rails are causing this, perhaps they could be shortened a bit to stop them resting on the tiles or raised a bit ?‍♂️
  3. One of the pics before the panels are fitted show vertical rails where the joins are, I would guess the rails are pressing on those tiles causing them to lift.
  4. It’s odd that the slates only kick up where the joins between panels are ? the panels themselves don’t seem to be causing the problem
  5. I hate floating floors and would bond everytime , my oak flooring is bonded down and yes will respond to UFH better IMO.
  6. I think it may be an airlock elsewhere, I think that’s what @nod means, if you shut the others off and bleed water from that rad for a while if there is an airlock in the pipework it may force it through.
  7. I have a couple on my build which I sorted myself but snagging is usually the builders responsibility (well I would have done if I was the builder).
  8. Would this not be seen as snagging?
  9. Great minds think alike ?
  10. Yes crap job, does not matter what type of carpet they laid, it’s wrong! Anyway, carpet does not go under the skirting. Smells a lot like bull shit. If the carpet shop supplied the fitter get them out to inspect it and report back.
  11. This was one of the reasons that our Jeremy changed his software driven home made weather compensating heating controls to a single room stat, no one else would understand it.
  12. Might be nice to say “thank you” to her as because of her you end up with a better outcome ?(which will really stick in her throat).
  13. I agree, I read the meter and they bill me, great customer service and answer their phones (in English ?)
  14. Yikes,, ?
  15. Most floorboards squeak because the wood shrinks and the board moves up and down the nail, get a nail punch and drive as many as possible tighter. Yes screws are better but get the proper thickness timber that fits properly, you will kick yourself if it squeaks after the carpet is laid.
  16. As long as your wall is thick enough to pretend it’s 400mm ?
  17. No because there is such much very bad stuff out there, just foam it and it will be better ?.
  18. A SAP assessor does not look inside a build, you just specify what’s in there (whether it’s full of holes or not ?‍♂️)
  19. Because it’s backup in the long term and temporary in the short term. Then I would ask your builder why? And get him to rectify it.!
  20. Well I have just changed to hot spot data (mainly fir being on this forum on my iPad) and the cost is cheaper than a landline with broadband !
  21. You keep saying the roof is not on, but as others have said, the roof shield should not leak. Definition of watertight is felt on. IMO. I had rockwall batts installed in the cavity throughout the build, rockwall installed in warm roof before felting. Slating weeks afterwards. Windows installed last. As an aside I was worried about damp in the cavity insulation due to fierce wet weather on our western wall (brick) when I core drilled fir the MVHR the outer 1” was soggy from water penetration through the brick but it did not wick inwards anymore. Since I coated that wall with waterproofer the insulation has dried out, I did not apply the waterproofer till after a good dry summer spell.
  22. Are you not putting a row of half (length) slates on at the ridge like the eaves?, this will give full coverage right up to the top batten. If the ridge does not need ventilation I like to run the felt from one side at least over the ridge.
  23. But as @pocster said above, a span exists between these poles, so it’s been done before so very little will change. I hope they accidentally dig up their gas/lecky/water ?. When I was working for BT, we had to renew a Span and a house owner refused to let us in to do it so we pulled two new spans in with the existing one, job done ?.
  24. Is it the people in no 44, on the corner, I can see one cable going in your direction but google earth can’t show where it’s going to ?
  25. So is the pole on their property? No, my understanding (from Working with BT for many years) that they cannot stop over sailing cables but they can stop access. Draw us a plan and let’s see what we come up with (I will sneak up the pole after dark if you want ?).
