  1. Take no notice of the children, an adult will be along shortly 🤣(looks good by the way 👍)
  2. Change the double socket to an unswitched one!
  3. Does your neighbour (at the other end of the terrace) have the same in their loft? (I.e. was it built this way or added fir some reason 🤷‍♂️)
  4. Never seen that before but still say good builder or SE needs to be consulted (IMO) perhaps a builder who does loft conversions 🤷‍♂️
  5. Looks like diagonal bracing of some sort but difficult to tell from the photo, yes a good builder or SE will give a view.
  6. My builder used hooks and 1/ you can hardly see them 2/ you can replace a slate without horrible lead strips, I would always use them in future. I went with hip tiles to match the ridge tiles.
  7. You won’t like my cottage then 🤷‍♂️
  8. If you recess the doors like the lower diagram the door will only open 90’ before the door hits the frame and this could pull the hinge screws out!!,! IMO the outside of the door must be parallel with outside of the frame as per the top diagram.
  9. I prefer non complicated, each elevation it’s own (I.e. timber on left elevation and brick on the right.
  10. Good idea, I am having trouble selling a house because the buyers surveyor has made several assumptions (that are wrong) and scaring the buyer 😱.
  11. No such thing as a silly question, silly is not asking 🤷‍♂️ Sounds about right, you can always trim the door a little if required, not so easy to add.
  12. +1, the blades go blunt quite quickly, new blade only.
  13. Perhaps it’s too late but I would have tiled it THEN installed the new loo, no cutting 🤷‍♂️, however a Stanley knife with new blade will do it (but mind your fingers).
  14. Yes but only ones that side of the frame, pairs are a must to stop frame cupping (IMO). yes woodscrews and rawlplugs and at least four pairs each side. yes your diagram above would put the left hand screw under (or near) the jam I guess. Never used concrete screws but the torx heads are brilliant. I do not like thermal blocks of any description and find trying to get a decent fixing into them difficult.
  15. No only used for putty till it goes off!
  16. Glazing Pins ! Push Points - Glazing Pins. Push Points install without the use of special tools, making them a favourite of glaziers and DIY'ers. Just push them carefully into place with a putty knife, chisel or slotted screwdriver. Use Push Points for wood sash glazing, green houses, picture frames, mirror frames, and more.
  17. If BC are involved and inspected then it must be ok.
  18. So, how heavy are EVs (generally) as batteries tend to be heavy . 🤷‍♂️ (I don’t like SUV,s) but even non SUVs are bigger than previous models .
  19. My son is a car salesman and he told me that within the industry there is a plethora of second hand EVs as some are going back to ICE.
  20. Yes, it was meant to be directed at @greenbanana
  21. Ah Ok, is BC involved?
  22. I bought an Italian made vacuum fir the workshop over 40 years ago, very basic, motor, cloth bad and paper bag over it, treated badly repeatedly now held together with gaffe tape and only just started making bad noises (I think the brushes may be going). Very good value for money I recon 😎.
  23. Well I am going to say it if others won’t! “Is @greenbanana just a nosy neighbour looking for trouble? 🤷‍♂️
  24. I have heard that as well, it’s why UPVC has an air gap and drainage (so I am told).
  25. As temperatures rise and fall inside and outside your home, the gas inside the double-glazed unit expands and contracts – putting pressure on the seal. Over time this causes it to weaken and break. this makes sense as in a previous house south facing panels failed over time but north facing ones didn’t??.
