  1. But they aren't installing it for your benefit. They are getting plenty from the rhi scheme so they don't really care as much as they would if you had of paid for it yourself. If it didn't work you wouldn't pay for it. They get their money no matter what.
  2. Exactly have seen so many walls fall over even ones with planks holding them. Why roll the dice when you don't have to.
  3. Normally it's 7 course of blocks high and then you back that up so it won't fall over in wind. Am sorry but building a wall that high only tied in at one point is madness. Walls fall over all the time and your taking a risk you don't need to take.
  4. Why not. It should be of now and not due to come on till 6:30 going by your post above. Then it will run all night to 9am
  5. You could just try it for a few nights. What have you got to lose.
  6. Then change your time clock by 12hrs so it's running over night and not during the day. If it's running then hopefully it can't/won't do it's purge and you might get some sleep. Might not be the best sleep but might be better than what's going on now.
  7. What is your build type. For a timber frame it's much easier to get in a ground works crew to get the founds in then the timber frame company takes it on and you finish it off. For block then you have a lot more running around sourcing materials and man power to complete each stage. As far as mortgage companies go your very restricted here so pay a premium. You just have to suck it up till your deal is done then hunt for a better option when your 3/4/5 year self build mortgage runs out. I had to give a fairly complex breakdown of my costs to the Ulster Bank to show that the money I was borrowing was enough to finish the house.
  8. At the moment how long per day is it running in heating mode and if it's separate producing hot water??
  9. Why take the chance. If that was falls over with high winds the destruction it will cause will be massive and potentially life ending.
  10. It might be a pain during the day but you can turn the radio up to drown it out. Can't obviously do this at night. If they sound stops when it's doing hot water then programme it to do this all night. Take the hit on the electric bill for the sake of your health. You will get some sleep plus your rads should be pretty warm after running all night.
  11. Have you any wd40 with the red extension hose??. If so you could blast that in and hope some gets to where it needs to get. https://www.screwfix.com/p/wd-40-multi-use-lubricant-450ml/9866t
  12. Have you tried working the handle up and down and tapping the top corner with your fist to try and create some shock to free the roller up.
  13. They would be one of the most popular companies here doing this work. Plenty of sites beside me with their advertisement on the site fence. I talked to them at the self build show years ago and they do really know their stuff but like most good things you will pay extra for that premium service.
  14. If it doesn't do it during the day and only at night then can you change the time clock so it's 12 hrs out. It would mean it's doing this purge in the afternoon and you get some sleep.
  15. Same here. I handballed all the block up to do the peaks. Spent an HR each day loading out then the rest I built away. Done the same with the roof tiles walked them all up. Took 2 days. Only machine I had was a 13t digger and an extension boom to set the roof truss.
  16. The bit will have a roller on it so you can't go in any more that what depth or profile is on the bit. You just hold it against the material and push it along.
  17. Treat it like buying a 2nd car. You could buy a new Dacia duster or a 2nd hand focus with a few miles on it. In a few years what will have lost the most money. Another thing to think about is how easily will it be to source spare parts of anything goes wrong.
  18. Get a sheet of 6/9 mm MDF and use this as a back board. Screw this to the wall in the corners. Sand seal and paint it. Then use an adhesive to attach your strips to the wall. Much easier to remove a few years down the line.
  19. Which model have you got as mine is mounted on a drop ceiling and is struggling to extract so need something with more power.
  20. I take it that the fan just runs flat out with no way of changing the speed without getting into the roof space.
  21. Only a knee injury stopped me from joining the royal ballet school but I kept all my outfits for sentimental reasons. Lack of balance, grace and poise didn't help either to be fair.
  22. For £35 of that £85 per SQM I will mix that adhesive in 9 inch high heels and a Tu Tu gladly.
  23. I wouldn't be that lucky.
