  5. The markup on the ticket prices is ridiculous I buy thousands of tiles per year and rarely pay o ever 20
  6. It will take me about four days once the heat is on The original ticket price was £97 Whilst they are good quality Italian porcelain I wouldn’t want to pay much more than 30 for a floor tile Tge markup is incredible on tiles

  12. The lower the number The better airtightness Less drafts Cheaper to heat
  13. On all my jobs a continuous line of adhesive does happen I can’t believe we are the only ones doing it right It’s poor management when it doesn’t and really easy to check at any stage afterwards A gentle tap around the perimeter Velfac arnt the best quality windows They are a contract window that most of the big players use and cheap Ive said before on I visit different sites each week and haven’t seen an air test being carried out in the last five years It’s supposed to be 1-7 which is a joke in itself The major house builders get away with it Because the can Most of the new builds that I work on achieve a 2 on the air test Which must be done via a desktop
  14. Things are settling down with Tge materials But labour quotes are still governed by how busy the contractor is most builders merchants offer a materials whole House estimate and are probably using the same software as the online estimators
  15. Spot on Dave My first thought was 5 years down the line you could be back to square one Trees and garden walls don’t get on It looks like the roots are already under the flags A nice fence would be a great option at a fraction of the cost

  18. It sounds a mammoth task Back in the day you could pushed a small child under there and pay him thrupence But the PC brigade have put a stop to that now Or maybe a small Polish builder If you manage to pull it off Take plenty of photos As this is something that will keep coming up on here Best of luck

  20. I agree The HPs I’ve looked at seem very quiet
  21. You will need to prime the floor first We normally use tile master primer But most of the self leveling compounds have there own primer
