Cyclo electric boiler?
nod replied to Adsibob's topic in Energy Efficient & Sustainable Design Concepts
Most claims can be taken with a pinch of salt A year or so back I put a post on here about my local ford dealer loaning me an E transit 150 miles off a full charge Not a lot but enough to get me around our jobs each day The tue figure was around 70-80 per charge No passengers or goods No heater on Until truly independent testing reviews are done Most people will be skeptical -

It wouldnāt surprise me I think even the greenest on here wouldnāt dispute that HPs are more expensive to run than gas All three quotes that we have had stated they donāt do retrospective fitting any longer As most people expect there heating bills to plummet Lots of mis information out there Even BG are selling with The promise your bills will be slashed by a third Probably in the small print -
Some still use ply cement board etc I use Ditra matting directly onto the deck 5 mil for mat and adhesive Then what ever tile your using the adhesive needs to be the same thickness

I think the client has reached a stage where there has to be a cut off point The delays Some through bad luck ground etc Others brought on by themselves Earning a living in Health and safety hell is difficult

My wifeās just pointed out that two others nearby have come on the market also Similar size to ours albeit over three floors 1.3 million Id of expected these to be 8-860 max Are developers simply adjusting there prices to suit Whoās paying these inflated prices ?
-
No Pretty straightforward If we are not off here by next Christmas Thatās what we will be paying There a city centre company that have a meeting 8-9 each morning There own Health and safety company that fines them thousands of pounds for each infringement Not sure how fining yourself works

There one of the largest building companies in Europe The whole site is being developed for a client who are marketing the properties We framed and plastered tiled The first eight in seven moths 27 people in the office I did the framing and dry lining on two of the largest refrigerated units in the Uk and associated offices These are to store all the cancer medicines after Brexit One site manager Which was ridiculous He nearly had a nervous breakdown probably needed 2-3 27 on a housing site is something Iāve not seen before
-
Thereās two plots started about 6 months after us by a Manchester building company They are only about quarter of a mile from us So I called on several times for a nosey They quite a bit smaller than ours at 250m2 but he was happy to share his cost projections 350 build 200 plot 700 sale price Thereās been a lot of people there throughout His vista have racked up like everyones They have just gone on the market today for 900k I think for plots to be viable developers will have to up there end price and hope buyers pay it The housing development Iāve been working on locally for the last 18 months has lost 2.2 million so for with 100 k per week penaltyās if they are still on after next Christmas We still have 104 to plaster

Unfortunately you will have to follow there dimensions -
Youāve probably covered all the solutions in your donāt want list Except replace the frames with the correct size frames

Sand and cement is far better than tough coat or bonding Both of which act like sponges and take ages to dry out At least three times as long as sand and cement Bagged backing is just more convenient Cost wise About the same

Iām starting to sound like a sales rep for Wagner im not easily impressed normally
-
Definitely if thereās anything else My wife had already papered the floors before I did the plastering Which helped keep the floors clean around the edges

Tiles too 'loud' - and excessive bathroom retile quote
nod replied to puntloos's topic in Bathrooms, Ensuites & Wetrooms
I hardly ever pay day rates But the rates are ok If they are working and not stretching things out If Ā£85 m2 is for fixing tiles Thatās at least double what it should be and bares no resemblance to to day rates of the other trades Even in Hertfordshire š Thirty odd m2 at 42 would still give a tiler 700 + per day Or 350 per day if he drove from Preston each day and took four days š -

Very impressed with the little Wagner Sprayer Last time round I hired a machine Much bigger than the little Wagner Lots of overspray and waste Hardly any overspray from the smaller machine Takes about 15 minutes per coat for a bedroom
-
Gun foam it Then cut it back with a saw and tile over it
-
Just let it wash over you Our near neighbors have apologized for the negative comments Stating it was the planning consultant that THEY employed to stop us that worded the objectionsssssssssd š

Justifying the cost of stupidly expensive toasters
nod replied to Adsibob's topic in Kitchen & Household Appliances
Iād say NO In saying that many of us have no room to talk As we spent 900 quid on a hot water tap and are about to do the same again A kettle would probably be cheaper than a basic toaster Ā£209 is not a lot in the grand scheme of things Go for it š -
I would make a baffle box out of pb for each socket to sit in Im presuming that the walls are being counter battened
