nod replied to kandgmitchell's topic in Floor Tiles & Tiling

Thanks for the replies They are trying to apply a rule that was brought in to stop builder’s stockpiling homes Ie Not habitable because there’s no loo and kitchen last time they came after us by saying we owed several thousand in arrears Evenen though we had no water Plaster stairs or any first fix The line was a builder can finish a home in 9 weeks start to finish You’ve had nearly a year and agreed to right off the arrears if we paid 50% CT For the three months before we moved in Seven months before sign off I’ve someone coming out later this afternoon The house is quite a way off being habitable If our buyers push for June We will have to get a static on site Or book into a hotel See what happens this afternoon

As with last time As soon as we registered our new address in order to get the power on The local authority has driven past and deemed the house complete Despite not having any bathrooms kitchen stairs and just a temporary tap for water We got the power and had to register the address on our previous build As soon as we we’re watertight This time it’s been inconvenient doing without power But suspected the same would happen

Does a concrete lintel need any additional fire protection?
nod replied to MikeGrahamT21's topic in RSJs, Lintels & Steelwork
You will find that a bonding coat will also add some fire protection Ideally you will mesh where the lintels are -
Probably about 5 k for labour and you can easily workout Concrete muck away

I’d have my money on a plumbing leak I The trays should cope with anything soaking through
-
We’ve lifted our trusses between three of us on our previous build 12 meter span Pouring rain All on the day You will need an easy rout up and over the scaffolding I had to cut four poles inline with the handrail Five years on and five years older I spent 500 quid on a crane for the day this time

As others have probably stated Flo screeds dry in incredibly fast About a week drying time for tiles Traditional is a mil per day There’s no additive that will quicken this up though we often tile screeds that have this additive in We make it clear that there is no guarantee if it lifts Two options Flo screed or wait

Removing wall bricks ready for RSJ
nod replied to Bladders's topic in House Extensions & Conservatories
Plus 1 Needles are by far the easiest and safest If you have a Stihl saw You can cut a lintel into four to save buying padstones -
