  1. Use Alge-cide Pick a dry day 12 hours minimum Then wait for the next rain to wash it off
  2. We are on clay on our previous build With hundreds of trees Tree line about 5 meters Mostly ash
  3. Why not just use bagged self leveling Matt it then tile I do lots of commercial like that It’s usually only the joints that need sorting out Some companies don’t want to pay for the Matt So we seal and tile directly onto it
  4. We had a similar situation at our last house Building control insisted that we cut the drain off and put two inspection chambers in and run the new drain parallel to the footings Id give BC a call and get him or her out
  5. We paid 3k for design and building drawings 420 Icluding two story workshop 6 beds Traditional built
  6. Got it now Bit like your ex wife not liking you new one No particular reason other than it’s not them Tell him to get over it The moment as been and gone
  7. I tile lots of bathrooms and wet rooms It’s so unlikely that water will get past the tiles and silicone and if it was to The tiles would need to come off I can’t remember the last time I had an issue I’ve just used moister board again Hardy backer is such overkill
  8. Trays before the linings Be careful of putting them tight against the studs if you have doors edge to edge Can be difficult to get in once tiled A snug fit against the lining and sealed works well
  9. Sounds like your going to have to do it again
  10. About the same Not much in it
  11. 8-1 is probably to weak a mix T 22 days it’s going to be as hard as it will ever get

  13. Yes they can All new roofs have to have dry hips and ridges Including slate
  14. I hadn’t seen your chart Two days should clear all the walls A day for the floors and a day for grouting and polishing Tilers can earn good money ex specially on commercial work Where floors can be 1000s m2 and several days without getting a tile cutter out But everything has to be perfect With heavy machinery or cars going on there As a tiling contractor I never see the prices being quotes on here Even for large format tiles
  15. A normal 30m2 bathroom should take a tiler three days start to finish and then the floors Usally all three in a day Half a day prep work half a day grouting I’ve just tiled three out of four of our bathrooms A bit less than three days each While I’ve been tiling for forty plus years I don’t to much tiling these days But like with other things I refuse to have the lads that work for me do anything at our SELF build I’ve started laying the porcelain planks on the GF and I’m getting about 25-30m down pair day I’m 62 So you can imagine how quick the younger guys are The guys that work for me are site guys and are very good and extremely quick I pay £22 m2 for floors So they need to hit the ground running everyday
  16. I would speak to BC BC won’t care about applications Only that the work is correct and safe I suspect that BC would ask for an updated Structual Engineers drawing
  17. Make a stud partition and fix to the floor and ceiling You don’t need to fix to the wall
  18. K rend Webber etc Use a specialist render company Plasters are ok But can be a bit rough
  19. Never heard of it Why not use one of the big three and get the backup should things go wrong They all look the same once finished
  20. Not a chance of a rep in Lancashire They used to visit us once a month Cutbacks
  21. I can remember being asked as I do MF as part of my business Have a look on my back post Or ask away
  22. Both skimming and taping is likely to look bad if done by an Amateur Once the lights go on or the sun hits it It’s one of those jobs that your better paying someone to do I’m 62 and skimmed our six bed room house out in a week with the help of our son It could tie a novice up for weeks and still look rough
