You need A1f building paper This will stop the lead from sweating At £70 a roll many roofers will just Chuck a length of membrane in there But if you are going to do that you may as well use the cheap plastic valleys that all the mass produced houses are now using

How accurate do we need to follow planning outlines?
nod replied to dan_cup's topic in Planning Permission
No planner is going to come down with a tape measure These things usually come to light when a neighbor complains Your pretty safe to do as they have told you Follow your neighbors line -

We’ve moved into our build three weeks ago We’ve been informed that it will be a further four weeks before we get our bins Due to the chap that delivers them being off sick I’ve been down to the depot In my van and stood next to hundreds of wheelie bins I’m not allowed to simply collect three Yes you’ve got it “The man that deals with the bins is off sick” I think AI will move fast But places that arnt self funding will always have the attitude Because we’ve always done it like this I would be great if you could just put all your details in and have your proposal looked at impartially

You don’t even need to do that much You can put hardcore down and roller or wackier it down I did that on our last build and installed a temporary timber ramp They just but a foot note to sign off LANDSCAPING INCOMPLETE

I’ve seen so many jobs where the pipes have been damaged in the slab Plus it’s all left open to the elements Unless there’s a massive saving by doing this Screed like most people
-
Detail 2 you need to break the block away and take the membrane and insulation right up to the outer skin To avoid cold spots Have a look at previous posts I put quite a few pics up showing this
-
You can use thermal blocks Presuming you will render over Thermalight arnt suitable for sand and cement But fine with the through coloured renders With a mesh coat
-
BC won’t sign off electrics Main reason being is it’s unlikely any of them would be qualified to do this Your father can easily do the whole job Then get another electrician to come in at the end to do the testing and sign off BC will ask you for a test certificate at the end

You’ve overthinking it With the spans you have there will be no bounce Difficult to distinguish between BB and concrete

You need to fix a timber lining around the reveal before plastering Then put the Arc on the same way as you would for a door
-
Your always going to have a few pops Usually where there’s a bad shape The mistake that many self builders make is Putting to many screws in The spacings are clearly marked with an x on the boards

Each time I buy a resin shower tray 5 on this build They come supplied with a trap I always replace these with a Mcalpine trap Hand tightened But the best out there Around £20

nod replied to ruggers's topic in Brick & Block
I had this same issue on our previous build I spoke to the cast stone supplier He simply said send us your drawing and we will work round it Most of the openings Did vary But that wasn’t an issue -

Expensive Connection Cost Fermanagh Northern Ireland
nod replied to Vain's topic in General Self Build & DIY Discussion
You will probably find that you having a connection will be of no benefit for the landowner They will base there quote on your requirements Ie One House and won’t simply T off at a later date for him I would do a joint application for three plots A third payed by you We have two plots and supplying both with power came in at about 60% more than suppling one I’d check that you won’t need an EV charger Compulsory for the rest of the UK
