I’ve been tiling for over thirty years A lot has changed Ive just spent 1000 including vat on 150 mtrs of ditra for ours Due to the UFH Though some people decide against the extra expense and have no problems We normally put expansion joints every ten mtrs Like I hate them on domestic properties Using ditra help with this But you should put an expansion joint in each door opening

    UFH

I’m just reading through the Greenstar boiler instructions prior to installing ive come across a section that says that I need to install an external blender to limit the water tempriture that is fed to the UFH The fitter that will comision the boiler says it’s overkill Any thoughts

  17. What I normally do is ask for a drawing Itemise everything labour materials and try to keep everything standard That way it is easy to work out if a £100 door has been price for and your other half likes the ones that are £150 Labours very often the same Same goes with concrete muck away Agree a rate Its also worth agreeing with the builder that if your not supplying materials that you will stand any price rises If not he will whack a chunk of money on top Just in case
  18. Hi looking back at my invoices The last lot we bought was from Encon about six weeks back We bought 300 mtrs at £9 per mtr that was Naufe 2.4 x900 sheets These are the best ones to use But we are stuck with what the Architect species Always fixed after the roof The odd job we have done before the roof is completed Useally gets damaged by other trades It needs to be glades then finished Scafold down No arguements over any damage
  19. I’ve had cheap osb on the back of mine for twelve months Still ok
  20. The backing looks dusty and weak mix When applying more than one layer of backing You must go weaker with each layer ie start with a very a strong mix and go weaker A 3-1 scratch coat through out Then a 4-1 mix will never shell and give a perfect background for any finish But as with tiling each coat needs several days to dry out The contractors material costs would be much higher Deumidifiers won’t cause any damage Bit of a lame excuse
  21. Ps We love the planters
