  1. I’m tempted to buy one and router the hinges out difficult to tell the quality till you cut into them
  2. Our thoughts have turned internal door 22 of them to be precise Our local merchant has a trade event in a couple of weeks time with Belize veneer unfinished doors at £59.99 Bit of a saving of around £20 on Howdens Mexicano My question is Has anyone use Belize
  3. We normally tack a plastic stop bead onto the block trapping the membrane Then Parge over
  4. I was just going to agree with you Jerremy But noticed I’ve gained an extra pip ?
  5. You should Parge the inside skin Sand cement is ok But the caged sound coat plus is better and more convenient to use Around 90p per mtr But without the Harvey lifting of S C
  6. I’d normally not look to make much on something like this id alow a week for two labourers to knock it off and spray a sealer on it prior to scratch coating It can rack up if you start paying a day rate
  7. If it’s fully scaffolded you would be looking at about £5 per mtr with some areas difficult to shift others easy
  8. Some pictures would help with a price Quite Quik to clean off if there is a fixed scaf Slow moving towers You may find that the top coat comes off ok and the scratch coat won’t shift If that’s the case the new scratch coat can go over the old But a few pics would help
  9. Yes we are stuck between using Preston’s kitchens Nobelia and WB preston Nolte In fareness there’s not much between then I intend fitting the kitchen myself But if I wasn’t Preston’s fitting package looks quite reasonable
  10. Tha vat rules on construction are a nightmare I’ve been vat registered for over thirty years and still have problems We often do carehomes and sheltered accommodation some are 0 rated others are not Sometime it relates to being self contained ie own or communal kitchen Somtimes it is down to the ownership of the building and sometimes it’s a reduced rate I think the rules are made up as they go along
  11. Anything hired is vatable scaffold etc Bit of bummer with something as expensive as a concrete pump
  12. We had settled on a freestanding bath for our main bathroom A touchstone from Bathstore £1150 more than we wanted to pay I thought I’d have one last look on eBay Found the exact same one for &690 new but no original packaging at a clearence warehouse ten miles from we’re we live Though it took four of us to lift it upstairs
  13. I posted at Christmas that we are looking Its never ending We are about to settle on Nobilia Or Nolte Both German Neither would budge Till we went to another showroom same manufacturers
  14. Your correct no grout on the internal corners if you use tape water will get behind run an even bead of sealant down the corners Then spray with a 20 -1 mix of washing up liquid and smooth out decal times The sealant won’t stick to the liquid Use one of the rubber silicon tools from screwfix or simalar Its really that easy
  15. It’s not easy They could have cleaned it with water had they done it right away We get this problem in winter when it rains while we are rubing the render down Brick acid sounds harsh But a small amount on a sponge will move it Tge longer it’s on the harder it is to shift Don’t forget to wear a rubber glove Another option is grout remover Less harsh
  16. Oach They should have covered the slate The only way to clean it is brick acid on a sponge Carefully clean each slate being careful not to get any on the render When you hose down keep the hose directed onto the render for ten minutes The renderers will tell you it will weather off It won’t But the bits under the slates will Hope this helps
  17. Wow I’ve seen house extensions on less Talk about belt and braces
  18. I was trying to point out difference between old an new Old would waterproof a roof It’s not unusual to find lines of drips off a newly membrane roof that has no skates or tiles Wet to the touch
  19. Nowadays roof membranes are breathable So they are not waterproof like the old felt was If the tiles are not letting water in I would leave well alone and perhaps look towards re roofing in a few years time
  20. It’s also a lot of exspence when your building starts to move On a structure of that size a few mtrs of extra concrete isn’t that exspensive

    UFH

Well the UFH is now upto 35c The boiler seems to be running ok Ive got a friend who is a heating engineer who will spend half a day and sign the boiler off Once the heating has been running for ten days I will switch it off and leave to cool for a couple of days Then I can get on with tiling the floorsh
  22. That’s a very good link Peter
  23. I wouldn’t bother with non slip adhesive A 50 x 10 ml planed batton will be much better I have an account at CTD and find I have to beat them down on the price of adhesives and tiles There showroom tile prices should be 40% less They usually offer 20% but will negotiate if they think you will come back if you want to open an account and get almost trade prices Tile giant are pretty good Carry pretty much the same range as Topps But much cheaper
  24. Yes the company has offered to mark the appliances down and units up However hard we try the appliances are going to cost at least £5500 and worktops £3500 Leaving around 10 for the German kitchen We live about two mile from the granite worktop manufactures who seem to supply all the kitchen companies A place that runs 24 7 It May be worth approaching them direct as one company was reluctant to tell us who there supplier was Though it had the company’s name on the back of one of there samples
  25. The resin floors don’t look that difficult most are bucket mixed with a drill and poured and simply spread with a spatula or roller A carpet fitter near were we live started doing them about five years back His first job was on his own house Looks pretty nice five years on He used a nonslip with thousand of tiny beads
