No I decided not to wet plaster But dabbed with a continuous band around all sockets and angles I used sixty bags of adhesive and made sure all joints were pointed In my job I use sever thousand bags of Parge each year I’m not sure that there is much bennefit to airtightness As should get behind the board in the first place
-
I’ve booked the airtightness test for two weeks time We are block and block construction with sash windows While we have sealed evrything off as we have gone along I was wondering what a reasonable test result would be

Always difficult to put a figure on a build A friend has built a small three bed one bath basic house for 120 k The plot was a small part of a garden of a house he also renovated If he had sold the plot separately I don’t think he would had got more than 80k if he could find a buyer So it is a difficult ask But possible Just about

You can do them afterwards Then pick up the unredered reveals when the frames are fitted But much better to get all the window frames in prior to refer- 21 replies

I don’t think there are any isues with TF We chose tradition but that was personal Choice if your likely to sell at some stage Its worth getting a build warranty A lot of the mainstream builders we’re going onto TF houses in the early 80s But bad press put pay to that Totally different methods to the ones built on here With panels left stacked for week open to the elements and builders bashing holes through the sides to get services in There are still plenty of people who think TF is built like that

Sorry if this has been covered I’ve rang our sb insurance As our policy runs out on the 19th two weeks before we move in They offered us a three month extension £200 That covers the build in progress But not contents He said without the build being signed off it is unlikely any company would issue normal contents cover Van this be correct Any help would be appreciated Gary
