  1. Our conditions requested a virtual model quotes varied wildly Most wanted to do a walk through and we’re talking over £1000 We found a company that was willing to do it as a desktop study for £350 But did warn that LA may not accept a desktop study They did
  2. I don’t like the glue lams I replaced mine with two steels Worked out about the same price
  3. You are correct over two story and into an integral garage Is a b R requirement So you should be ok to put whatever type of door on When a fire door is required it’s normall marked clearly on your drawing
  4. I’m guessing from the aggressive attitude of the rep that Nolte are having issues with their quality control I don’t think he would have contacted me if I hadn’t of kept on contacting the factory direct
  5. I think Nolte must get a lot of issues with quality control Or lack of it The rep rang me after numerous emails to Germany I couldn’t get a word in edgeways He just kept saying let me speak He drowned on about the company’s turnover Six layers of glued laminate Robots Then hit me with the mother of all excuses Six migrants in the truck Doesn’t know were the missing bits of my bloody kitchen are But is sure there were six migrants But in the migrants defence after scratchithing my five mtr finger rail amongst other things They attempted to polish the scratches out Going right through to the bare metal Leaving a white residue on the alloy They then re rapped it with bubble rap and packaged it with cardboard Hoping I wouldn’t notice This couldn’t of happened at the factory As there are Robots checking every item Not the German efficiency we expect
  6. Thanks A bit disappointed with Nolte Some items were damaged at the factory but sent out anyway Virtually no quality control Their rep was a total arse Telling me that there was six migrants in the lorry and they had damaged my kitchen including the five mtr finger rail that had been scratched then re packaged. Loads of excuses
  7. We finally received the damaged doors and trims from Nolte and was able to get the quarts worktops on
  8. These are what fitted last weekend
  9. He actually came from a wood yard in Preston But I thought the rain forest sounded better ? one local gate company quoted £3300 plus for supplying and fitting the motors same motors have cost me £650 including vat
  10. My daughter asked what I was upto I told her Is was boarding the gates with Idigbo She asked if he was foreign I replied yes from the Amazon rain forest
  11. I've been asked to complete an online online water usage report Can anyone point me in the right direction
  12. I fix studs everyday for a living Never on top of UFH As Russ has already pointed out You can glue the sole plate down it usually as a change of plan Get them down and run a rip of ply aroun the bottoms 50 mil higher than the floor level
  13. Always studs first
  14. You could wet plaster But depending on how much room you are able to looser You could fit and dab with insulated boards 25 mil insulation board would take up 70 mil on each wall Or 50 would take 100 off each wall
  15. Looks really good I wouldn’t beat yourself up about not using an Architect They also make mistakes

    Air test

Agreed Dave We do both Many years back when a lot of the builders where moving into DD I didn’t like doing it But if DD is done right it as good as wet plaster We still sand and cement and skim for one small builder But the drying out time is a lot longer Up and till recently we would do school and hospital corridors in hardwall But less and less now with the advent of abito boards and simalar It’s fairly important to run a bead of airtight sealant around where the plasterboard buts against the block prior to dabbing as an exstra measure and dab all the reveals solid also I see what happens on the 30 th Ive never had a problem with the air tests on the commercial stuff
