I agree Dave There’s planning in principle for two We applied for all the regs for just one Planners even expressed concerns that a bare patch was being left We applied to use a second entrance to the field for off road parking Which was declined and told to use the other plot But went on to say If both plots where being started simultaneously They would grant temporary off road parking Our Architect has a vested interest as he wants to buy the second plot It could be why this keeps coming up I don’t want to commit to technical detail only to change it all in 12 months
-
Thanks Jilly We would have to spend on full technical detail 4K We would prefer just to keep the planning open
-
Put a wire brush attachment in you drill Get all the yellow stuff off then paint with SBR mixed 3-1 Your good to go
-
As most will know we purchased two side by side plots and a field at the back with planning in principle for two homes The planning for the second plot runs out in six months Is there any way we can renew the planning without going to a full detailed planning permission Our Architect thinks not Any suggestions

I think unless you are actually self building your at the merci of the builder or trades We’ve just been held up on a job where the span deck panels have been built in wrong Causing a fire risk There are nine managers wondering about supposed to be keeping an eye on things The whole sap system is open to abuse BC don’t police it They just make sure that you exceed the minimum

Creating temporary track for HGVs - Plastic Gravel Grids?
nod replied to MarkW1979's topic in General Structural Issues
Don’t use plastic grids They will get chewed up within days Dig it out and get a couple of loads of large stone topped off with Mot Most of the larger sites are jet washing lorrys wheels off before before they leave site to prevent muck being tracked on to the tarmac -

I’m not sure where you are located But companies are still very busy Especially outdoor trades with two months of wet and freezing weather in Dec and Jan and will try and pull back the money that they have lost

The easiest method is to borrow or hire a rotary laser Set it running down one side and the dot that shines off the top will give you your 90 degrees Then move it to the next corner

Go to 150 + 75 screed = 225 = 1 block

So 13 tonne digger coming next in 9 days
nod replied to CalvinHobbes's topic in General Self Build & DIY Discussion
I’ve just used a 3 tone mini digger on our last two and dug a hole at each corner of the house Then taken the digger away A 13 tone digger is expensive to get there and take away till your ready to start your build -

Try Jeremy at CML -
I’ve several spray render pumps and one that sprays projection plaster Backing and finish together Which is handy on office block stairs But not worth getting out for less than a 150 m2 per day Base and finish Rifina do a sprayer for finish but the amount of work masking up makes it not worth it and you would still need a couple of spreads to finish it for you

Some the costs are ridiculously low Tiling and decorating Have you costed any plaster work Or the venicician Plaster -
Unless the house is over three floors All GF steel will need protection
-
If your over three floors your steels will need protecting At least one layer of 15 mil fb MF ceiling trim will give you the required void
