Matching floor level with wet room former
Vijay replied to jayc89's topic in Bathrooms, Ensuites & Wetrooms
or maybe a tile backer board then tank the lot as one floor? -
thanks everyone, really appreciate your help. I was contemplating putting 18mm osb or ply down but wasn't aware of the self adhesive stuff. I will definitely look at EPDM, but is that a DIY thing?

Cheers but really do want a DIY option on this if possible

Afternoon guys, Got to replace my garage roof and looking for suggestions of a cheap DIY solution. I believe it's asbestos, so will be looking into that being taken down and disposed. That will leave me with a metal bar structure underneath ti fix new roofing too. I'm not sure whether to go down the boarding and felting option or some sort of corrugated roof sheet. I'm also contemplating leaving it as is and throwing a big tarp over it (although not what I want to do cos of winds etc) as I need to get back to site. Any suggestions? Cheers Vijay

did you pay anything by credit card? section 75?? -
My only worry with contact adhesive is one supplier said it can react with the plasticisers in flexible plastic
-
anyone have any idea what the plastic covering is made of?

I could get some pics on the weekend..... I was put off by spray adhesives as they have been "stringy" when I've used them before and didn't think it would be good under a thin finish. I'll look at the spray mount ones which Google has come up with one by 3M. I thought of superglue but would need a lot lol

Got an MDF bathroom cabinet door which I assume is moisture resistant. The gloss covering has come off ( the sort you find on kitchen gloss doors). I assume it's a PVC or acrylic maybe?? Anyhow, trying to find a the right glue to stick it back which ideally would be something that would flow so I could get a nice thing layer to bond. Any suggestions? Cheers Vijay

I'd go expanding foam and them decorators caulk so it won't crack -
I do not recommend Cortizo Windows or the company that made them.

cheers everyone. Looks like the Mrs likes the granite stones so that could be the way to go Will absolutely look at ordering direct from quarries, although it would have to be dumped onto the road if tipped..................

was the top layer of clippings just laid or compacted down at all?
-
were the granite chippings just spread or compacted down in any way?
-
Really like that. Any idea what depth of sub base and top layer of granite chippings you did?
-
thanks guys. I like the look of the granite chippings too
-
Cheers Peter. Is that a good base if say it was block paved later?

Wondered if anyone can help on solutions for the cheapest drive for a car. I may want to finish it off nicely in the future but need something pretty quick and easy. I'm wondering if I dig down 150mm and whack down type 1, would that suffice? Maybe throw down shingles on top? Cheers Vijay

Neighbour being rather ridiculous/arrogant
Vijay replied to hendriQ's topic in Party Wall & Property Legal Issues
not sure I would do that, it could potentially move the boundary line if say they removed their fence. Also what a cost to do -
Yeah it was a great forum with helpful and knowledgeable people. I started making it 2008 and still going. Oil got difficult to get hold of though.................
