  1. not sold on the pir which will obviously come on every time they go in there
  2. my sparkie put her off pull chords lol I just thought a switch inside the room is good for someone who's eaten too much too lol
  3. The light switch is fitted outside the room. You have me thinking though, I wonder about a kinetic momentary fan switch if it exists, that I could fit inside the room?
  4. Need to fit a ceiling one with a roof tile vent and just wondered if anyone had any recommendations? Also, any suggestions on a way to switch it on? I know normally it's with the light and over run, but that isn't great if you shower during the day. Cheers Vijay
  5. Think you're spot on but 3 years is the time frame to sell it in and claim the extra stamp duty tax back
  6. I wouldn't recommend the company at all sadly, they couldn't care less about the issues and just said "that's what they are like and we can refund you if you want"
  7. That sounds like the ababcus one I fitted. It looks good and works well, but the quality was a bit crap and their idea of customer service is even worse. It was warped everywhere and had cracks where the waste joins the board, So I needed to be wary about those issues when fitting it
  8. lol fair point
  9. third party outfits??
  10. Bad news, Berstein will not ship to the UK anymore
  11. Thanks everyone. Hopefully Berstein will still ship to the UK as they are not listing us on their drop down shipping options............................
  12. thanks guys, will get the toilet ordered up. Anyone had any issues with the Berstein ones?
  13. cheers bud. I assumed I had to line things up like the water inlet and outlet pipes??
  14. Hi all, Are wall hung toilets and frames a standard fit? I'm looking at this frame https://www.grohe.co.uk/en_gb/rapid-sl-3-in-1-set-for-wc-0-82-m-installation-height-38773000.html# and either of these toilets https://bernstein-badshop.com/toilets/wall-mounted-wc/a-3570-00000000000000000000000000006949 or https://bernstein-badshop.com/toilets/wall-mounted-wc/a-13973 and I can't work out if they work together? Vijay
  15. this may help and 'll be doing it soon too
  16. I need to choose a material for the vanity unit top in my parents shower room. It'll be approx 1800x320, have a sink set in and possibly the toilet flush plate. I'm a bit put off the normal laminate stuff as I've seen it peel in shower rooms. Any suggestions on a good quality material that will last that I would maybe be able to do the cutouts myself if possible? Cheers Vijay
  17. thanks everyone. I will deffo use a wall channel and also a top stay bar as it is for my elderly parents, so need it to be secure I will look at 10mm glass too for extra durability Out of interest, for the glass with the easy clean coatings, are the coatings all the same or are some better than others?
  18. Cheers Peter, pretty local too. You know the way you suggested for fixing the glass bottom to floor, how strong do you think that bond would be? I wondered if it was really strong, I could do the same on the vertical edge to wall and maybe use something like this at the top of the wall/glass? https://www.psglassfittings.co.uk/product/stainless-steel-gx45-1-glass-to-wall-clamp/
  19. Cheers Peter, really like that idea Have you come across a minimal wall profile at all?
  20. Next job on my Mums bathroom is to fit the walk in shower glass which is 1200mm wide. I'll use a top bar fixing at the open end. is 8mm thick enough or should I go for 10mm? Can anyone suggest a minimal fixing to attach the glass to the wall (vertical fixing) or should I just use a standard wall profile? Would it be ok to fix the bottom of the glass to the tiled floor with just something like CT1 or would I have to have some sort of floor profile? I'd prefer to use CT1 as if I want to remove the glass in the future and give them a full walk in area, I can with no holes to waterproof/repair. Cheers Vijay
  21. Thanks Russell, went with your suggestion and it only needed a thin spread of CT1, so should work well. I also emailed the manufacturer Abacus, who once again didn't surprise me by being absolutely rubbish in not bothering to reply. I would never recommend them as they haven't cared less about the quality of their products or any issues.
  22. I went with Polarwall and he has been brilliant with advice
  23. no, it's a tileable drain. I've taken some pics so you can see how the tiles need to go The CT1 would be to stick the tiles in, doesn't really need to create a seal as the water drains around it
  24. I need to fix the tiles into a shower drain and wondered if I would use flexible tile adhesive or something like CT1? The tileable drain is like this one https://www.wickes.co.uk/Wickes-Infinity-Tileable-Trap-Cover---1000mm/p/230299 Cheers Vijay
