Seems it may be work thinking about the EV wiring if getting a new CU. @ProDave is it possible to double up in bus bar on all CUs, or only on some. If latter, which ones, and should it be done at the begining, rather than a retro fit?
-
Can all these CUs take a breaker that is large enough for an EV charging point, or will that still require a separate unit.

Mean Trump or Johnson.
-
How about if you do most of the work yourself, like @Ed Daviesis doing.

Just had a thought. Have you considered cellulose insulation (Warmcell). When I went to see @Jeremy Harris's build before he moved in, I was surprised that it did not have that 'empty building' sound. I think there is also a sound deadening product that is similar.

Boiler size for underfloor heating vs radiators
SteamyTea replied to andyscotland's topic in Underfloor Heating
They can always fit radiators, hard to fit UFH after the build. -
Boiler size for underfloor heating vs radiators
SteamyTea replied to andyscotland's topic in Underfloor Heating
There may be a issue with the different temperatures used between radiators and UFH, though I think this can be over come with 'mystical' plumbing devices. I think @ProDave have the right answer. -
Glue / Silicone / Foam Airtightness for Timber/OSB

Would it not take several coats as OSB is not exactly flat and easy to paint. -
Not happy with tiling job - or am I being picky?
SteamyTea replied to sjb1288's topic in Floor Tiles & Tiling
Really, that surprises me. Especially if you factor in the capital costs and the interest that the money could have earn't you. With that much cash in your bank, you could have got @pocster and @Nickfromwales to have shared a ride down to sort it out one weekend. -

Cable: for Connecting a transformer to an LED strip

Yes, very unlikely, but who knows what happens in the mind of electrical engineers. -
Not happy with tiling job - or am I being picky?
SteamyTea replied to sjb1288's topic in Floor Tiles & Tiling
I was once asked to tile a floor. I had painted the place and the customer was well impressed with my work (I was out of work at the time and would do anything for cash). Told him the floor was dreadful, but he insisted that I could do it. He threw me off site and refused to pay me for all the work I had done. £1500, bastard. I hate tiling. -
Cable: for Connecting a transformer to an LED strip
SteamyTea replied to ToughButterCup's topic in Lighting
As LEDs are DC, polarity is important, so if getting white cable, one needs to have a maker on one side of it, or it just becomes a pain (unless the rectification is done at the lamp end). -
Changeover switch: how to go about it ...
SteamyTea replied to ToughButterCup's topic in Power Circuits
Is an oven and hob really essential? They are large draws on the system. I have had one power cut that lasted 4 hours, made my tea with my camping stove. Keeping the house warm and bright is essential for a multi-day outage. -
is the dark green that is negative, the imports?
-
Blame Brexit/election fever/school milk/20 MPH speed limits/wood burning stoves/Carol Vorderman/ @Ferdinand's cat

Do you bother to download the files and look at it in detail? Where about in the country are you?
-
Such a shame you can't walk on it now. Never mind, I am sure these boys would come around if you asked nicely.
-
Thanks Shame there is not a cheap energy monitor that can show the amount and direction of usage.

What size inverters are on each. Just trying to establish how large a load you can draw without importing.
-
Do you run very light load during the day, or put the PowerWall power though your PV inverter?

That's up there with sending the apprentice to stores for a Long Weight. Or Tartan paint.

Once the washing has been done, do you then have to carry it downstairs to hang it on the line. 3 times a year.
