  1. I have one, got it by showing my Part P certificate.
  2. Welcome @Onoff is the font of all knowledge about bathrooms and kitchens. He has worked on his for years.
  3. You need to be care here, the 'high temperature' may come at the expense of efficiency, the CoP, or because it uses a normal resistance element to boost temperature. First thing to do is a decent heat load analysis, then you can start to look at the cost of fitting a system. It is a bit like buying a suitcase, small ones tend to cost less, but if they are not large enough for the job, they are useless.
  4. Welcome. First thing is to find water leaks, then air leaks. Then insulate, then think about heating systems. If you can insulate internally, this is often messy, but you can do it in winter. The more thickness of insulation you can fit the better.
  5. Quite often some of us on here have measurement issues. But I would have thought the builder would not have wanted to work that close to the neighbour.
  6. So would I. @Dave JonesJones has an odd skew on costing and environmentalism.
  7. So it will be a timber framed place then. Good choice.
  8. Just buy a place in an area you can afford. It is always easier to get a different job closer to your new home.
  9. Why, PV is probably a cheaper option. Probably best to have some idea about what size it will be before getting a suitable cylinder. Other plumbers are available.
  10. Can't help that think that LA is not the way to go. Li xx are pretty cheap, or would you have to buy a different charge controller. I also wonder how efficient DC charge controllers are when the battery is charging up the last 20%. What is the embodied carbon and energy in a LA batter? https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2013/03/130308111310.htm
  11. Drove past the Tattoo Parlour just now, door was open so I assumed they were working. As I got closer, I could hear a Kango pecking away. Well hard women get tattooed there I think. Or the builders were in.
  12. Does it have the option to use multiple amp clamps? The CC devices can have 9 clamp ons and 1 optical.
  13. Not done a write up as such. Basically a CurrentCost Envi with the optical sensors and transmitter. A RP1 Zero collects the data into a .csv file and I then put that data into a spreadsheet.
  14. * Power Factor I have two types of meters, one uses clamp on sensors and the other uses an optical sensor that counts the flashes from the real meter. The second one is much more accurate.
  15. Not quite the same technology. Domestic wood burners do not have fluidised combustion beds or exhaust scrubbers, oh, and constant monitoring. And it is the environmentalists that are trying to get then stopped, it was accountants and ill informed politicians that got them to burn wood chips.
  16. Wasn't there something about sulphur content. "The changes also mean all manufactured solid fuels must now have a low sulphur content and only emit a small amount of smoke." How many people check for this?
  17. What you charging the car with, a damp bit of string?
  18. How are you going to certify your home grown? https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2021/may/01/house-coal-and-wet-wood-restrictions-come-into-force-in-england
  19. Is it the same way that cheap fish tank filters work? The air lowers the density of the surrounding fluid and it then rises.
  20. If is a really old C-Max, and the seat belts are still clipped in the back since it was MOTed last September. I don't think I have ever sat in the back.
  21. I sit and have a coffee with a recently retired brickie. Talk about living in the past and refusing to accept new (as in the last 50 years) building practices. Quite worrying that.
  22. My car has blacked out rear windows. Hardly notice the difference when looking out. Left is the dark side.
  23. I have some 7 day timer ones that have been controlling/limting my E7 for years. Think I got them off Amazon.
  24. Probably for the unnecessary legionella cycle.
