  1. Is this a pre-condition? Because if it isn't, you don't have to wait.

  2. The trims get sikaflex'd to the tile and mitre bonded together. To stop them 'flapping', the reverse gets bonded to the rear of the alu LED profile. . Bomb-chuffin'-proof. Go to doctor. ?? Oh, and go for a 10mm tile trim as you'll need some void for whatever adhesive you use.

  3. Hawd on - doesn't trust the previous results?! Not knowing any more about it the good old cynic in me says he's just printed his own money! Do you have to pay for any additional work/time of his/hers? What if there is a redesign? If there is a change after your BW docs are submitted, this will need to be updated eventually. What rational have they given for this change of heart?

  8. On our previous build, I sold the static 'van on Gumtree. A private seller is at a disadvantage, because of transport. Up here there are only 2 people capable of moving them, and they are the two local caravan dealers. One flatly refuses to move vans not sold by them. In fact when I sold ours, the buyer had to get someone from much further away to move it, as the local guys would not play ball. On the other hand, buy one from (or sell one to) a dealer and they transport it for free. So find out what the local dealers will offer you and make that your starting price on ebay, or ask a bit more on gumtree. There are two dealers near here that both have a yard full of them, anything from quite decent ones recently off a holiday park, to old wrecks that they sell for £500 as site offices or storage. The one we have on our new build was actually offered for sale ON a site. I wanted it because it was such an unusual layout (centre lounge, bedroom at each end) and they agreed to take it off the site and deliver it to us.

  9. The easiest thing is to give SWMBO a blank sheet of paper, let her design the kitchen then ask the architect to put some walls around it.

  10. And don't bring the pipe out of the wall BEHIND the FF. Most need every mm of depth available. Bring the pipe out e,g under an adjacent unit where you can access it by removing a kick board, to allow the entire depth to be used for the FF.

  11. 1. Attached to the Y was a push fit plastic moulding, which connected the Y to the water tank. I removed this, cut off the lower part that fitted to the Y because it was in the way of my pipework, and taped off the upper end with Siga-tape, because the top end was a square push fit into the water tank, which it would have been difficult to seal off otherwise. The Y-branch had a sealing ring and some sealing grease on it, which mated well with the waste pipe fittings described previously. 2. Yes I think that is right: this was a part found for me by PlumbDrain, described on their receipt printout as 'MLY 82x50mm reducer SRM30:G'. The inside diam was a perfect fit for the ductwork, with a good tight fit when a rubber ring was introduced to make airtight. 3. the ductwork is QuietVent 75mm i/d radial ducting HTH

  12. Hey Jane.... welcome! I am a fellow Norfolker.... where abouts are you? We're near Thetford forest and I hear you on the conditions. We had 21 also, but in some stoke of genuis.... well a huge accident, we had amendments and actually had 2 live applications. One with only 12 conditions which is the one we are building too now, although the council accepted all the plans from the 21 conditions so we have way less hoops to jump though now. Hubby is a builder and although this is our first complete build, we have done quite a few renovations etc.... so if we can help, just give us a shout. Since planning, we have pretty much done most things ourselves.... so I have learnt some of the lingo.... lol! Good luck with everything

  13. Hello Jane, welcome and good luck. There isn't one builder on this forum that hasn't had several minor and the odd major hiccup(s) Rolling with the punches or tide or whatever cliche you fancy is the norm. Make a simple table of your conditions. Have a column about what you're doing to fulfill it and then a 'by when column', followed by 'whom'. I made a folder in a filing cabinet and kept all the relevant documents in sub folders. It's too easy to lose track. Your pre-commencement conditions are the ones on which to focus just now. Regards Ian
