Russell griffiths Posted Sunday at 09:23 Posted Sunday at 09:23 Yesterday we moved into our place, started in 2018 still not 100% finished in 2026, I estimated it would take me 2 years, 🤣🤣 thanks for all the advice from fellow buildhubbers. What we bought, what we have now. 24 1
MikeGrahamT21 Posted Sunday at 09:29 Posted Sunday at 09:29 It’s a good job the date is on both of those photos 🤣 Congrats, enjoy the fruits of your labour! 1
Nestor Posted Sunday at 10:36 Posted Sunday at 10:36 Congratulations Russell, looks amazing and do post a few more photos when ready. Similar here, started in 2017 and moved in after 3 years. 6 years later some minor tasks to complete.... 1
Andeh Posted Sunday at 10:52 Posted Sunday at 10:52 Got more pics? Layout, tell us more. Congratulations, our moving in anniversary will be this July, amazing how much you look back as if it was all a dream.
Onoff Posted Sunday at 10:54 Posted Sunday at 10:54 Fantastic! Can we see some more pics.....maybe close ups of the locks and security measures? 😉 1
Oz07 Posted Sunday at 10:54 Posted Sunday at 10:54 Looks great. What delayed the completion from the 2 yr guess?

The last house I built in oz I did 75% and had help with the rest, when we started this I said I needed more help. then as we started I just kept doing everything myself got quotes to do stuff but didn’t like them, everything seamed to expensive when I knew I could do it, even if it took longer, then covid came along, things went up, ran out of money, things went up again, ran out of money again. plus I’ve got multiple other things on the go. I’ve also had large periods of time when I just couldn’t be bothered spent hours wondering what on Earth I was doing and why we even started. and I’m just about to start a couple of small refurbishment projects. must be mad, could be sitting on a beach with a cocktail. 3
Eric Posted Sunday at 13:57 Posted Sunday at 13:57 Always nice to get a before & after photo, looks very impressive! We have to be finished this year, gearing up for a final push but I think it’s actually harder now than ever… 1
Tony L Posted Sunday at 13:58 Posted Sunday at 13:58 Well done, Russel. That looks fabulous. I hadn't realised you weren't already in. 1

Ha I know that feeling. I bet every self builder gets that. Sometimes even when you pay Somebody to do a job its worse than you could've done yourself. 1

The lads I’ve had on site I can count with one hand. I think I have probably saved £200,000 in labour though which is what I wanted. 1
Mr Punter Posted Sunday at 20:52 Posted Sunday at 20:52 Why is the "after" photo 4 years old? Take a new one and post it up.
