Roger440 Posted June 26, 2025 Posted June 26, 2025 I bought a tracked electric barrow, Google mule. Got to say it's been fantastic. Will shift 250kg over almost any terrain, certainly places I'd never have got a wheelbarrow. As you observed, pricey.
ToughButterCup Posted Friday at 09:06 Author Posted Friday at 09:06 Well, I bit the bullet : 1 tonne moved a hundred meters or so . Ladies and gentlemen, I give you The Age Appropriate Wheelbarrow (Branding deliberately removed by AI ) 6

Work smarter not harder! Always surprised when I see people manual handling relatively large amounts of stuff when there is a machine that can be easily hired/bought and can do the job in a fraction of the time. Sure, money is a factor but in so many cases using the machine works out cheaper even if you don't value your time/health.

Over 2" stone , loosely compacted driveway : the bogie wheel digs in Over 20mm stone the bogie wheel digs in too. Up a 20% slope loaded with two wrigglers giggling their little heads off - OK as long as they moved their weight over the drive shaft 10 minutes ago, -rick- said: ... using the machine works out cheaper even if you don't value your time/health. I'm thinking about 'age-appropriateness' in terms of keeping myself out of the NHS's hair. 2
Conor Posted Friday at 12:57 Posted Friday at 12:57 I had 5tonnes of sand and soil to move to the back of the house two weeks ago. we deliberately ensured we have vehicular access to all parts of the garden. I hitched the trailer up to the car and got shovelling
Gone West Posted Friday at 15:48 Posted Friday at 15:48 6 hours ago, ToughButterCup said: The Age Appropriate Wheelbarrow We bought one of those a couple of months ago. We've shifted several tons so far, including 150 sandbags filled with soil. The garden varies in height by 16m, so with lots of slopes and terraces it's knackering using a normal wheelbarrow. Wish we had bought one earlier.
SimonD Posted Friday at 16:16 Posted Friday at 16:16 I bough one of these when we started the built. On mine the sides and front fold down flat for extra carrying capacity. Can't believe how useful it's been: 1
