BotusBuild
It's time to fit my hot and cold water pipes. I've decided on the manifold and plastic pipe approach. I like the idea of coloured pipe (red/blue). Which suppliers can you recommend please. Cheers Stuart

Cheers Stuart While I’m not a plumber I’ve been doing ours for the last couple of weekends The manifolds make things much easier can’t help you on the coloured pipes
Big Jimbo
@nod Don't forget that the new building regs require that all the hot pipe, (even within the heated envelope) are lagged now.

dpmiller
@nod will all those JG pushfits be hidden behind PB? The Welshman may have a view on that.

As with our previous build everything hidden The only thing have done differently is Put 28 mil piping in for the heating Ill be honest I first put 22 mil in then removed it and replaced with 28 As I’ve said I’m not a plumber 😁 Only one fitting dripped last time and never showed up til the heating went on
PeterW
10 hours ago, BotusBuild said: like the idea of coloured pipe (red/blue). Why ..?? Can only really get it as sleeved MLCP or PEX and it’s 4 times the price ..!! Buy some rolls of insulation tape if you are worried about mixing pipes up. Or buy proper tracer tape if you want to do it really nicely !!

crispy_wafer
As I was clipping the pipe up anyway, I opted for blue/red pipe clips.

Gone West
I used red and blue conduit for my water pipes, so it was easy to check my first fix was ok.

If not, the punishment will have to be quite severe, sorry.

Alexphd1
I was in the trade and I still bought offcuts of uponor mlcp of fleebay. Roughly £1 per m. Saved a fortune. Note I do have a crimping tool but there is mlcp push fit fittings but I don't have 1st hand knowledge of these.
