Thinking...

Turn on the shower valve for the rainfall head. Flow to the head operates a 15mm flow switch, one of these:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/i/332534595956?

The flow switch is used to trigger the scissor lift mechanism to lower the rainfall head AND brings on a ring of LEDs around the head.

So, just to clarify.......

Your actually seriously thinking about a rise and fall shower head?

No, of course your not. You had me going there for a minute..........

Ideally position such that if you go to pick something off it with wet slippery hands and fumble it ends up down the bog or if the item is heavy  - chipping the bowl!

It'll have some crappy ornament on it no doubt! :)

I had half a thought to incorporate, in some way some of the wife's late cousin's geology collection in the pockets...maybe glazed...lit...?

Aqua Panelling fitted loose in the last  pocket:

That's 50mm of Celotex behind (on an internal 1' thick solid wall) with the 25mm timber frame in front:

Not sure if I should pack with more pir before I put the Aqua Panel on:

Or leave it hollow behind:

Pack it - why not?

You could have set those rocks into the floor - that would be cool.

It will all look v different when you get around to fully boarding it - crack on, lets see what it looks like.

I've got this possibly irrational, possibly not, worry about interstitial condensation in any voids I leave. Unfortunately as the walls taper I can't always avoid it. If I fill this bit between the battens then 25mm pir will sit flush with the front of the battens and be touching the Celotex behind on the rhs. On the left though there'll be a 1/4" gap between the rear of the 25mm pir and face of the Celotex. Best I can do is foam the edges before it goes in so there's hopefully an "airtight" void.

In the floor is a really good shout for those rocks. Too late in the bathroom but maybe I can incorporate elsewhere.

Oh they’re rocks are they. Must be me being half asleep looking and not following the thread (it is about the length of the bible and still not finished). I thought it was another experiment - the second picture being a Pitta bread with some left over chips on, and the first what happens to it if you leave it to go mouldy!

On closet inspection I can in fact see they are rocks.

They all hold sentimental value. I also have his flint collection, parts of which will be inset in brick gate pillars.

Put them round the hot tub with some lights for now. They are too cool to keep  in a box.

No, no, no.

Not slippery at all!. What an incredible feature it would make. Problem is walk on glass is very expensive...

3rd pocket panelled and cheapo deck light whacked in loose.

Looks SO much better in real life in the dark:

Continuing the theme of making things accessible for replacement I've decided I'll drop x3 25mm galv conduits down from the loft above each light fitting. I'll stop short of the light itself. Should allow me to easily withdraw these lights and cabling at a later date.

Have you chosen the noise for the flush yet?

Something dropping from a great height? This then. A tenuous link but I just love the track. It gets me "going":
