JamesP Posted November 30, 2020 Posted November 30, 2020 Congratulations, that's such a big milestone. We still have lots to do here to complete but a pleasure to be in. Well done.
ToughButterCup Posted December 1, 2020 Author Posted December 1, 2020 Thanks very much everyone. One thing is very clear, the chances of us having achieved this without buildhub.org.uk is close to zero. If we had tried on our own, our bank balance would have been even emptier. There's something very empowering about knowing that, sometimes within minutes, you can have informed opinions delivered straight to your laptop. When the soft and smelly hit the fan we were immediately supported with sensible advice and good wishes, as well as reassuring stories of similar calamity. A virtual group we may be. But the support experienced is very real. Very personal. And very C19 - safe. Thanks everyone. 7
Russell griffiths Posted December 1, 2020 Posted December 1, 2020 I think my build will now slow down a bit if yours is done, it’s your funny little mishaps that keep me jolly, as I’m walking across those joists I often picture you stuck in the gap and feel all warm inside. Oh my life is pointless now. ?

So there.

ToughButterCup Posted December 1, 2020 Author Posted December 1, 2020 All part of the service @SteamyTea. And thank you for all your help - you made me look just a little bit harder at many things.

Construction Channel Posted December 1, 2020 Posted December 1, 2020 Do you mean you are really in? Including a bed and kitchen sink...... If so, bloody well done. What are you going to do with all the spare time you now have??
Bored Shopper Posted December 2, 2020 Posted December 2, 2020 Congratulations!! Looks amazing and very spacious. Celebrate! :))
craig Posted December 22, 2020 Posted December 22, 2020 A cracking house and occupants, thank you for your hospitality over the past couple of years and being "my pit stop" for a coffee on my way home.

ToughButterCup Posted December 23, 2020 Author Posted December 23, 2020 Yes, properly in. One bedroom needs a lot more work - no plaster yet - and you can feel the cold streaming in. Durisol is 86% fresh air after all. Vistors are offered a paint brush on entry ....? VAT return beckons 2

I plan to submit mine in early January, but I want to try and contact them first to make sure they are at least open in some form to receive applications. I don't want it posted and then sitting unopened in an empty office for months.
Stones Posted December 23, 2020 Posted December 23, 2020 @ToughButterCup Really good to hear you're in! Hopefully won't be too long before we're down your way again as keen to see how much you've done since the boys tried to knock everything down with your minidigger.
Bitpipe Posted December 23, 2020 Posted December 23, 2020 Well done Ian, same amount of fingers at the end that you started with too. You will slowly notice the transition from actual building to maintenance and gardening...
