An elderly relative has been visiting and somewhat embarrassed has told me they lifted the little drain cover out of the sink and dropped their teeth down! It was a small run of a few teeth. I need to get into the drain. How?c Do I need to remove it all? I have plumbing tools.

Is the function of a skirting board also to take the knocks? If you don't have one, after a year does it not look....scuffy?

What do you LOVE about the lighting in your house?
CalvinHobbes replied to WWilts's topic in Lighting
Just been watching a programme in which the suggest using long pendant lights in a corner and avoiding spots everywhere. -
Yikes, think they might be rather mad at me for that and I would be thrown off the course before the big day in April.! I can however give an outline of it and stuff they point you to that are available. To be frank the first thing is I got an understanding of the procedure that is followed by for example the architects. You all probably know it but this for example... file:///C:/Users/pc/Downloads/2020RIBAPlanofWorktemplatepdf.pdf Just in from work so haven't seen past the three hours yet but so far it's gone over.. Hey @Kingostar, your site looks stunning. Planning here can take a while. I suspect we may be running on the same time frame for our builds. @Iceverge you said you wouldn't do a cement floor again, why is that?

Any thoughts? The wires, I see three....they dissect the site. I wonder could they be buried? Also there are three wires going from poles on street front to back. Front one takes 2 wires to cottage. I fancy 3 phase.

At this stage, more interested in how noisy or quiet they are when running. Huge differences. -

In our area there is the pink ladies charity that is really helpful with helping out with situations like this. Is there a charity locally to you that would help? Even to help organise re what you would need to get in. They might be able to call in a few favours for you. People are good given half a chance. -
Hopefully will be starting in March but have been clearing trees/hedges. I 1)so that birds won't nest in them and it would be carnage if I don't 2)To save money, I can get rid of a lot with my wee trailer - guy at recycling has already said I have done a good job of filling a huge skip. The digger will obviously get the roots. So far have been using a bow saw but so much still to do, was tempted to get this..https://www.screwfix.com/p/titan-ttl759chn-40cm-40cc-petrol-chainsaw/995fh Obviously will get the safety trouses and gloves. Got goggles so figured I would just need a safety helmet. Need one anyway for the self build. Which colour? Blue for inexperienced or white because I will likely have to project manage?

What do you think of this? https://www.sms-plc.com/insights/blogs-news/what-does-the-3-phase-smart-meter-mean-for-the-smart-energy-revolution/
-
Well that got your attention. ? TBH this is a question just about the birds. We have quite a few hedges and a few trees in a property due to be cleared as a site in March. I was thinking of removing as much vegetation on the surface to deter birds from nesting. I don't want the digger ripping through nests. Any tips?

Combi, Storage Combi or electric shower?
CalvinHobbes replied to Rachieble's topic in Boilers & Hot Water Tanks
Yikes so do we need 3 phase electric? I think it runs past our house. It wouldn't be far to take it in. We will be doing a new build with 4 electric showers. Going for passive standard. -
It looks brilliant, well done.
